• Essential tasks are activities that are required for your academic success • For example, completing assignments, studying for exams, working on projects, work, eating, exercising
• Non-essential activities are recreational activities that are not necessary for your academic success • For example, watching television, playing video games

• These are tools that allow you to not only monitor your progress but to note areas of weaknesses so that you can make necessary adjustments before assignments, and projects are due
• Summative self-evaluation tools • These are tools that allow you to evaluate your performance after you complete the test, exam, quiz, or
project so that you can increase your performance level on future assignments, and projects
