THETA TAU
Theta Tau at Prince George’s County Human Society
Iota Class The Eta Delta chapter of Theta Tau was glad to initiate
the Iota pledge class from Fall 2014. Our newest
members are Joe Baker, Jeremiah Brown, Brandon
Carestia, Ryan Collins, Ben Dobson, Sydney Edwards,
Yasiru Jayakody, Megan Lutrey, Kyle Olchewsky, April
Privett, Manasi Pukazhenthi, and Audrey Watt.
Philanthropy
The pledge class planned a service event with the
Prince George’s County Humane Society to spend
time with their furry residents.
Professional Development
Iota class also helped us learn more about professional
development resources on campus by holding an infor-
mational event on the Careers for Engineers program
at UMD.

Fundraising As a student organization, we
want to do fun things together, but
in order to have these events we
first have to fundraise.
Concessions
Last semester, we worked con-
cessions at a high school football
tournament and UMD basketball
games. We had a lot of fun and
got to spend time with our friends
while helping out the fraternity.
Camping Every semester, the Eta
Delta chapter of Theta
Tau goes on a camping
trip together. The camp-
ing trip helps build bonds
between brothers and the
incoming pledge class.

Regional Conference
The Atlantic region of Theta Tau hosts conferences every semester. We work together to
improve our fraternity on a regional scale and share ideas. Each semester the conference
is hosted at a different school. We were glad to visit our brothers at Johns Hopkins.
A Wider Circle Last semester we volunteered to help out at A Wider Circle. A Wider Circle seeks to end pov-erty in local communities by collecting donations and selling them at cheap prices to individ-uals and families suffering from poverty. We were able to con-tribute our time towards helping them stock their store with new donations.

Anacostia Watershed
Society Our brothers helped the local community by working
with the Anacostia Watershed Society to plant new
rain gardens at the Meadowbrook Run Apartments.
Rain gardens help improve the water quality in near-
by bodies of water.
Capital Area Food Bank Our chapter worked with the Capital Area Food
Bank to help feed those suffering from hunger in
the DC area. Their mission is to acquire food and
distribute it to those in need. They seek to edu-
cate, empower, and enlighten the DC community
about hunger and nutrition.
Thanks-giving Pot-luck The Iota pledge class
graciously hosted a
Thanksgiving potluck
for our chapter.
Brothers all brought
food and we had a
wonderful turkey din-
ner before Thanks-
giving. Everyone
contributed to make
a wonderful meal for
the entire chapter.

Study Hours This past fall, we began holding regular study hours in the Engineering and Physical Sciences Library on campus. Every week people get together to work on homework together and bring food to share with everyone else. Brothers are always willing to help each other out whenever they can.
