Women facing crisis pregnancy and their unborn children are among the most vulnerable in our society. For the unborn child abortion is a matter of life and death, while for the mother it risks affecting the rest of her life negatively.
Theres something missing from arguments supporting abortion. They leave out of the picture the human relationships involved, the womans concern for her baby and her babys utter dependence on her.
NEW RESPECT FOR HUMAN LIFE
The best interests of women can be served only by an honest and dispassionate appraisal of the facts.
Rather than feeling pressured tointroduce abortion, Ireland needsto adopt an ethically coherentapproach where respect for theinherent dignity of each humanlife forms the basis of publicpolicy concerning crisispregnancy.
Breathtaking new 4D ultrasoundtechnology means thatnow, more than ever, thehumanity of the unborn childis unmistakable. This powerfulimagery is leading people tothink again.
A study published in the BritishJournal of Psychiatry, foundthat abortion increases the riskof mental health problems forwomen by 81%. It is the mostcomprehensive study of its kindto date.1

As a society we need to be more supportive of women in crisis pregnancy and help build a more welcoming environment for expectant mothers and their unborn children.
