Jesus – Creator/Sustainer

Colossians 1:15-17 (NET)15 He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God,

the firstborn over all creation,16 for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him. 17 He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him.

John 1:3-4 (NET)3 All things were created by him (Jesus), and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind.

Hebrews 1:1-2 (NET)1 After God spoke long ago in various portions and in various ways to our ancestors through the prophets, 2 in these last days he has spoken to us in a son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he created the world.

John 1:10-12 (NET)10 He was in the world, and the world was created by him, but the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to what was his own, but his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who have received him – those who believe in his name – he has given the right to become God’s children

John 3:16 (NET)16 For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
