The Knights of Columbus has teamed up with the Wheelchair Foundation to help bring wheelchairs to those who lack the freedom of mobility.

Columbus?Columbus?• 2002 Supreme Knight met with Wheelchair Foundation representatives

• 2003 Sponsored 2000 wheelchairs sent to Afghanistan

• 2004-05 Sponsored 2000 wheelchairs sent to Middle East, the Philippines and Mexico.

• 2006 2,000 more are being distributed in the Philippines, Mexico and Poland.

Wheelchair Foundation met with some of the state officers of the California Knights. Knights immediately began to collect donations.

worldwide through a network of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's).

Q: Can I designate which country I want my donation to go?

For a donation of $21,000, a full container of 280 wheelchairs, you can pick a developing country from their list of approved destinations where they enjoy established and successful distribution relationships. There are currently 109 countries on the list.
