Generations of Disciples
We have known for some time that many younger people
and people newer to the faith (and many others)
appreciated more modern styles of worship music.
With this in mind, Wesley is making it a priority to be a
church for persons of all generations and levels of church
experience. We have recently hired Tony Sharp to
be our new, full-time Director of Contemporary Worship.
Tony has great experience with large United Methodist
churches in North Central Pennsylvania and Dothan,
Alabama. His musical talent and heart for ministry will
help us to more fully engage individuals and families in
our church as well as to reach out to a whole new group in
the name of Christ. I appreciate the vision of our Staff
Parish Relations Committee, our former Finance and
Administrative Council, and our 2018 Leadership Council
to make this possible. I am also grateful to the people of
Wesley for their commitment to growing their own
discipleship, as well as, reaching out to others in the name
of Christ!
Tony's first official Sunday will be in NRG worship on
Palm Sunday, March 25th. The first official opportunity
to welcome Tony, his wife, Rebecca, and their three sons,
Chip, Stephens, and Danner will be in NRG worship
on Sunday, March 18th.
May you be blessed during Lent and as all the generations
of Wesley celebrate the Resurrection of the Savior!
God bless,
Gerald

MARCH COMMUNION OFFERING
UMCOR Sunday, March 4—
this offering lays the foundation for UMCOR’s ministry
of relief and hope. Your generous giving to UMCOR Sunday
is what allows UMCOR to act as the arms and legs of Christ’s
church, moving toward the most vulnerable in their darkest
days. Convinced that all people have God-given worth and dig-
nity—without regard to race, religion or gender—together we
are assisting those impacted by crisis or chronic need. With
your generous gifts, UMCOR will be able to offer aid in Jesus’
name to those who suffer because United Methodists give
through UMCOR Sunday. In fact, it’s your generous giving
that allows us to respond when disaster strikes.
