At feet of the pyramid of Cheops, a wooden solar boat of cedar was found.
Consisted of 1224 pieces, you can visit it in a museum specially built towards her discovery.
Of a length of 43,5m, it requires no nail to hold.
About 10 years were needed to raise it.
The hull is composed by hundreds of fragments of wood tied to the rope.
Once plunged into the water, the wood swelled and the rope narrowed so assuring the waterproofness of the boat.
In spite of its 4500 years, the boat is in a perfect state of conservation…
