Overview
Smartbody’s approach to training teachers is intense and personal. Becoming a teacher
requires full and continuous immersion in the material over an extended period of time.
Proper teacher training requires continuous feedback from master teachers, skilled in the art
of turning Pilate’s enthusiasts into solid teachers. Our program is in-house, meaning that all
lessons, training, and feedback are given by Smartbody’s master teachers who are available
throughout the program. We feel this offers the student the best chance of absorbing the rich
content of Pilates teaching.
Two course options: Mat and Equipment
Smartbody offers two training courses. The first is the mat training course in which students
learn how to teach both group and private mat Pilate’s lessons. The second is the equipment
training course, in which students learn to teach private and semiprivate lessons on the
Pilates equipment. Typically, students who want to follow the equipment training program
first follow the mat training program. However exceptions are sometimes made for teachers
with extensive mat experience.
