October 2016

Five days filled with books and ideas, as well as insights into new industries and markets are finally coming to an end. Once again the Frankfurt Book Fair has successfully managed to bridge the gap between culture and business: Hundreds of book donations were collected during the fair for the art project "Parthenon of Books" by Marta Minujin. The Fair 2016 will also be remembered for its glamour: Next to national and international VIP sightings and author readings, several award ceremonies took place during the week. Among other, the Global Illustrators Award, German Cartoon Award and the Frankfurt Book Fair Award for best international Literary Adaptation were celebrated.

The perfect place for relaxing and gazing into the distance could be found in the Guest of Honor pavilion. Inspired by the rough beauty of the North Sea, Flanders & the Netherlands created a serene space away from the hubbub of the Fair. Finally, evening entertainment was provided by the new Booklounge, situated not far from the fairgrounds.

The Book Fair ends with positive visitor numbers: the Frankfurt Book Fair expects to have received a total of 277,000 visitors, among those are 142,300 trade visitors (+1.3% from 2015).

PODG participates Frankfurt Book Fair since 2010. As a global publisher, we have the partners in every country. So for us, it’s very important to meet these friends in Frankfurt per year.

As the old friend of China, we witnessed one important English academic title’s launching

ceremony in Frankfurt.

This is an international cooperation between China Shanghai Jiaotong University Press and

British Cambridge University Press.

We have one platform for the teachers and professors, so we always talk with our academic distribution channels in Frankfurt.

These gentlemen are very powerful wholesalers from Russia, China, India and Pakistan. PODG is trying to expand the channels in some areas that even Ingram can not handle.

We are willing to cooperate with IEEE Xplore, a new digital library channel. Through this channel, our 75o0 titles would be accepted by thousands of libraries.

The publishing business is a long time business. This lady is the APA’s distributor in Poland. Then look at this young handsome gentleman, he is the second generation owner of the biggest Sri Lanka publishing and distribution company. We hope that we can do a

long time business with the good people.

The publishing business is a global business on the excellent idea. Sometimes the authors should know how to create a good idea then promote it. Indeed, FBF is a good place to promote your brand and idea.

Italian beautiful book ship.

Mr. John Ingram, the most powerful business man in the global publishing industry. PODG is trying to make more deals with Ingram.
