Amygdala
It stores and classifies emotionally charged
memories. Its a large role in producing our emotions. It
triggers responses to strong emotion such as
sweaty palms, freezing, and increased heart-
beat.

Brain Stem
Underneath the limbic system is the brain stem. Itsresponsible for basic vital life functions such asbreathing, heartbeat, and blood pressure.
The brain stem is made of the midbrain, pons, andmedulla.

Brocas Area
Broca's area is a region of the hominid brain with link
to control speech, language recognition and facialnerves.

Cerebellum
It has two hemispheres and has a highly folded
surface. Its associated with regulation andcoordination of movement, posture, and balance.

Cerebral Cortex
Its a sheet of neural tissue that is outermost to the
cerebrum of the mammalian brain. It controlsmemory, attention, thought, language, and
consciousness.

Cerebrum
The cerebrum is the largest part of the human brain,
associated with thought and action. The cerebralcortex is divided into four sections, called lobes: the
frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, and
temporal lobe.

Corpus Callosum
The neural bridge that connects the two
hemispheres to each other, located in the central ofthe brain.

Frontal Lobe
The Frontal lobe is responsible for functions
such as reasoning, problem solving, judgment, impulse control. It manages our higher emotions.
Its also involved in motor control and memory.

Hippocampus
The portion of the cerebral hemisphere in the medial
part of the temporal lobe. This part of the brain isimportant for learning and memory.

Hypothalamus
Is involved in functions including homeostasis,
emotion, thirst, hunger, and control of the autonomicnervous system.

Medulla
It is responsible for maintaining vital body functions,
such as respiration, digestion and heart rate.

Occipital Lobe
Is associated with visual sensation and processing.

Parietal Lobe
Associated with movement, orientation, and
recognition.

Pituitary Gland
The pituitary gland is involved in growth hormone
production, production of hormones that act on Otherendocrine glands, endocrine function regulation and
storage of hormones.

Pons
Has roles in your level of consciousness and sleep.
Involved in controlling autonomic body functions.

Primary Auditory Cortex
Is a region of the brain that processes sound and
contributes to our ability to hear.

Generates the neural impulses controlling
execution of movement.

Is the main sensory receptive area for the sensory of
touch.

Primary visual cortex
The part of the neocortex that receives visual input
from the retina.

ReticularFormation
A network of nerve fibers and cells in parts of the
brainstem, it regulates consciousness orwakefulness.

Spinal Cord
It carries information up to the brain and instructions
back down.

Temporal Lobe
Is involved in sound sensation and also involved in
emotion, memory and speech.

Thalamus
Most of the sensory signals, sound, Visual, from your
skin and internal organs, go through this organ on
their way to other parts of the brain for processing. It
also functions in motor control.

Wernickes Area
The region of the brain is important in language
development and is responsible for the
comprehension of speech.
