Introduction
The PyeongChang 2018 Organizing Committee for the XXIII Olympic and XII Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) is
pleased to present the Press Accommodation Guide.
This guide has been developed to assist accredited members of the written and photographic press and non-
rights holding broadcasters with their accommodation requests in PyeongChang for the period of the 2018 Olympic
Winter Games.
POCOG will strive to meet the preferred location and standard of accommodation requested, but due to the high
demand for Games-time accommodation in both mountain and coastal clusters, it may not be possible to provide
each accredited press with its first choice of accommodation.
Please take your time to review this guide thoroughly and complete the required steps by the stated deadlines. It is
vital that the timeline is followed to ensure suitable accommodation allocations can be made.
The Press Accommodation Guide for the Paralympic Games will be published separately.
If you need assistance or have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Press Operations team at
pressacm@pyeongchang2018.com.
Quick guide to reserving press accommodation
1. Please read this Press Accommodation Guide carefully and start narrowing down the top three choices in your
preferred location.
2. Please note that you will not be able to reserve more beds than the number of accreditations allocated to your
organization.
3. Go to http://extranet.pyeongchang2018.com and download the Accommodation Request Form. After reviewing
all the accommodation options from this guide, please select the top three choices in your preferred location and
fill out the form in excel format.
4. Submit the Accommodation Request Form by 31st of March 2017 via e-mail to <pressacm@pyeongchang2018.com>.
5. POCOG will review all requests and reply by April 2017, confirming the specific accommodation allocation and
sending the Accommodation Allocation Agreement (AAA) with an electronic link to the Online Booking System.
The AAA is a legal document customized for each press organisation, which will include your accommodation
allocation including location, type and number of rooms, payment details, terms and conditions.
The deadline for acceptance of AAA is Mag 31st, 2017.
6. The first 50% of the total payment amount is due on June 30th, 2017.
7. You may release up to 30% of your room nights until July 31st, 2017.
8. The second (final) payment of your remaining balance is due on October 31st, 2017. Failure to submit the second
payment will result in losing your reservation and the 50% deposit already paid.
9. If you have any questions, please contact the Press Service team :

Important information about press accommodation
Accreditation Requirement
Only accredited members of the press are allowed to reserve rooms through POCOG and the number of beds
reserved cannot exceed your accreditation allocation.
Accommodation Period
For PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, you may reserve only the room nights you need within the range of
two weeks before the Games (January 26th ~ February 8th of 2018), during the Games-time (February 9th ~
25th) and two days after the Games (February 26th ~ 27th). If you need additional accommodation before and/
or after the Games accommodation period (Jan. 26th to Feb 27th), POCOG will provide you with the information
and contacts of accommodation properties. POCOG will use its best efforts to assist you to book your pre- and
post- accommodation. However, the contract for additional accommodation should be directly signed between
accommodation facilities and press organisation.
Minimum Stay Policy
There is no “minimum stay policy” for PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games accommodation.
Incidentals
Room rates do not include incidental charges including (but not limited to): food and beverage services (excluding
breakfast), parking, local and long distance telephone calls, in-room movies, laundry and dry cleaning, luggage
handling, provision of internet access (free or charged depending on the facilities), provision of audio/visual
equipment, etc.
Deposit
Accommodation properties may require a major credit card (eg: Visa) or cash deposit in Korean Won to guarantee
the coverage of incidentals charges. All guests are individually responsible for making a deposit at their own
expense. POCOG will inform you if accommodation properties require a deposit.
Payment
The Accommodation Allocation Agreement (AAA) signed by both accredited press and POCOG shall include
Appendix A showing room reservations confirmed by POCOG as well as the total amount due. All rooms must be
reserved and confirmed in the Online Booking System (which will constitute the AAA) and the allocations in the
Online Booking System will prevail. Please make sure that your instalments are paid through bank transfers by the
specified deadlines. All payments should be fully paid by October 31st, 2017.
Release of rooms
You may cancel and release up to 30% your total reserved room nights until 31st of July via the Online Booking
System.
Online Booking System
Once your allocation is confirmed, you will receive a notification with the electronic link to the PyeongChang 2018
Online Booking System. You will be able to manage your reservation, manage AAA and download outstanding
invoices.
Resale Program
POCOG will not operate the resale program. Each press organisation is responsible for the rooms not released by
the last release deadline. If you need additional rooms after July 31st of 2017, please contact POCOG via e-mail and
procedures for additional room request will be provided.
Room Rate
Room rates are given in US Dollars (USD$), inclusive of Korean Value Added Tax (VAT 10%). All rates are per room, per
