ITSELF CANNOT BE DIRECTLY OBSERVED"

Abernathy 2003

INDICATORS

SIMPLY A "TOOL" FOR MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS, AND NOT NECESSARILY EQUAL TO THE PHENOMENON UNDER SCRUTINY

Abernathy 2003

NOT TO BE TAKEN AS A TRUE MEASURE OF THE PHENOMENON FOR

WHICH IT WAS CHOSEN

Abernathy 2003

OPERATIONALIZATION

The process of reducing phenomena into "concrete and specific definitions" or

measurable units.

Numeric indicators are created through operationalization.
