1 EXT. LAS ANGELES GHETTO ALLEY - NIGHT 1
TONY’S DAD leans against the wall very casually with a
disgusted look on his face. He looks down at his watch and
sees 9:34pm. He pulls out his phone, quickly dials, and puts
it up to his ear abruptly.
TONY’S DAD
Hey dear. Have you heard from Tony?
NATALIE (O.S.)
No. I havent heard anything. Coach
has been working them late because
they have a big game this weekend.
TONY’S DAD
Well I’m waiting at the usual spot.
Should I wait?
NATALIE (O.S.)
He is a grown boy. I think he will
be fine to walk home alone for
once. Just come home, your favorite
TV show just started anyway.
TONY’S DAD
Alright. I’m just gonna go on
ahead.
NATALIE (O.S.)
ok see ya soon
TONY’S DAD
bye
(hangs up his phone and slips
it into his pocket)
Tony’s dad turns the corner of the street and heads down the
alley holding 5 plastic grocery bags that seem to be about
to break. He moves in and out of all the trash dumpsters and
loose debris. He makes another turn deeper into the alley.
He gets a perplexed look on his face.
HEAD GANGSTA #1 (O.C.)
I aint fucking with you anymore
(Hear the sound of a gun
pistol cocking)
HEAD GANGSTA #1 CONT’D (O.C.)
I told you I needed this money
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 2.
HEAD GANGSTA #2 (O.C.)
some shit came up and I lost the
money. Ill have it soon.
Tony’s dad continues forward to see the groups of gangstas
in a standoff with Head Gangsta #1 pointing his gun right at
Head Gangsta #2’s dome. Tony’s dad steps on a cover to a
trash can and startles the gangstas. Sensing immediate
danger the ganstas turn and shoot. Tony’s dad takes a bullet
to the chest and drops to the ground in agony. He lets out
an enormous scream and the gangstas pick up their shit and
run.
Tony is seen walking into the same alley that his dad was
seen walking into 20 minutes earlier. Tony is shurgging his
black athletic duffle bag over his shoulder. He clears the
sweat off his forehead and wipes it on his bright orange
basketball jersey. He slowly hobbles down the same path as
his father and then he spots him. Tony drops his bag and
runs to his father who is laying in a puddle of his own
blood. Tony drops over his bloody father and begins to sob.
Tony’s father lays motionless.
