For many people the Holy Season of Lent, marks a time of year where we attempt to make adjustments that will help to strengthen us spiritually. Unfortunately like New Years resolutions, we sometime find ourselves with lists of well intended
promises which include, devotional schedules, behavior adjustments, and attitude adjustments we struggle to maintain. During this 40 day journey we reflect on Jesus Christ and his wilderness experience before his Crucifixion. We marvel at the control, self denial, and discipline exhibited by Christ in the midst of great temptation. Traits many of us desire to imitate daily, especially during this Holy Season. Our perception however can become our greatest adversaries to success. We focus on the larger picture, instead of focusing “One Day at a Time”! It’s a journey, no two days will be the same. You must give yourself grace when necessary. And remember; take it “One Day at a Time”! Matthew 6:34 states, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Below is a 7 day map to help you through your Spiritual journey. Speak up Sunday - Take a day of speaking out for what’s worthy of praise. Notice things that are positive & happy around you & actively be grateful for that. Move it Monday - Aside from your normal activity, do something active today that will make you feel relaxed. It doesn’t have to be strenuous but it should get you up & moving! Transformation Tuesday - Use today to track your progress. Make a chart, write in a journal, or even do a comparison photo… Today is the day to take pride in your progress. Wind Down Wednesday - It’s the middle of the week, you’ve been pushing yourself to change, so set aside some time to just relax. Whether its 5 minutes of meditation or an hour of home-spa specialties, carve out some “me-time” today! Think it Through Thursday - Use today to think about how you are doing. What parts of your life work well, and make you feel good? What parts need to change? Make a list, set goals, make time to listen to yourself & recognize your needs. Feel Good Friday - Today is a day to reward yourself for a week of hard work and for just being you! Strategy Saturday - Today is the day to plan out your week. Look ahead at your calendar and plan your specific goals for the upcoming week.
