The iPad Pilot: Why?

Mobile tablet devices have obvious potential to be used throughout the Lloyd’s market, bringing technology and greater efficiencies to the face to face business process, driving innovation and supporting the strategic plans for the TMEL

Why look at it?

Obvious potential to support face to face negotiation

Brings electronic data capture in to process

Gives brokers multiple tools to support broking process

Aligned with other initiatives, i.e. work on TMEL

Saves everyone’s arm muscles, it’s popular and brokers love nice toys

The iPad Pilot: Approach

The main objective was to facilitate the exploration of opportunities and support the market in expanding the use of tablet technology

Lloyd’s has provided 30 iPads across the brokers involved

Some pilot brokers have invested in their own tablets

To date Lloyd’s role in the project has been to

facilitate use of the iPads

raise awareness

provide a platform for discussion of ideas and processes

introduce solution providers to the participants
