The Haves Versus the

Have Nots

Pastor Bonita Joyner Shields

QUESTION

How much more money would you have to

make in order to believe you have enough?

“The conducting, supervising, or managing

of something . . . the careful and responsible

management of something entrusted to

one’s care.”

1. Stewardship begins with the

knowledge of who God is and who we

are.

“In the beginning, God created the

heavens and the earth” (Gen. 1:1).

“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness

thereof” (Ps. 24:1).

“See how very much our Father loves us,

for he calls us his children, and that is

what we are!” (1 John 3:1, NLT).

“And if you are untrustworthy about worldly

wealth, who will trust you with the true

riches of heaven? And if you are not faithful

with other people’s things why should you

be trusted with things of your own?” (Luke

16:11, 12, NLT).

2. Stewardship involves the faithful

management of our heavenly Father’s

affairs on earth.

3. Stewardship finds its fulfillment through

our generosity.

not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a

cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8

“And God is able to make all grace abound

toward you, that you, always having all

sufficiency in all things, may have an

abundance for every good work” (NKJV).
