Quality Academic Programming

The Pelham School District continues to prepare our students for success by delivering innovative, high-quality academic programs that produce well-educated children for our community ensuring our future.

The Pelham School District consistently ranks in the top 50% of the state in assessments in reading, mathematics and writing, and the State of NH consistently scores in the top 5 in national assessments.

 Pelham High School offers over 20 college courses through partnerships with the Community College System of New Hampshire and Southern New Hampshire University. We continue to be one of the state leaders in providing a challenging high school curriculum to ensure all students are ready and prepared for higher education.

Pelham High School’s Art Department in 2013 had more finalists for national recognition (3) than any other high school in the State.

By the end of Grade 3 last year, over 90% of our students performed at or above the average level of proficiency in reading fluency and mathematics computation on national assessments.

Pelham High School is ranked 28th out of 82 NH high schools. (Windham is 25th and Salem is 52nd) Source: National Center for Education Statistics, U.S. Dept. of Education, and New Hampshire Department of Education.

The Pelham School District is one of only 539 school districts across the U.S. and Canada last year to be named to the Annual AP College Board District Honor Roll for Significant Gains in Advanced Placement® Access and Student Performance.

PHS Remodel Project

The improvement of our facilities, including remodeling Pelham High School, will address our accreditation concerns while creating a modern learning environment that promotes creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Addresses all New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accreditation facility related issues.

Remodels the existing high school.

Provides access to all learning spaces without the need to pass through another learning space.

Increases confidentiality for students receiving special services.

Increases security measures by providing the ability to limit access to the building and securing sections of the building.

Increases natural light to instructional spaces.

Increases instructional space size.

Increases the number of instructional spaces allowing for an increase in course offerings for students.

Additional Improvements

Provides a small auditorium to support the arts program and community events.

Increases parking by 100 additional spaces.

Eliminates the need for portable classrooms at the high school site.

Fiscal Responsibility

The Pelham school district continues to be considerate of the community by remaining fiscally responsible while providing a

quality education ensuring our students will be contributing members to the public good.

Pelham School District’s per pupil expenditure for the 2011-12 school year (last published by the state) is $10,154.10.

Pelham ranks #158 out of 161 reporting districts in per pupil expenditure, which means we spend less per pupil than 157 other districts in the State.
