The Staff Give Their Best Reads of 2014 Judy– Dr. Sleep by Stephen King. What happened to Danny Torrence after The Shinning.
Pam P.- The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith/J.K. Rowling. She/he has a new book with
the same character coming out in June.
Heather- To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han (Young Adult). I did not want this
book to end and, when it did, I felt like I was left hanging! I cannot wait for the sequel (P.S. I
Still Love You) to come out next spring! Deb- Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepety. A coming of age story about a girl on the shady streets of
New Orleans who finds love and support in unexpected places.
Ann K.- The Rosie Project by Simsion, Graeme C. A quirky genetics professor surveys women
in the hope of finding a life partner and ends up helping Rosie find her biological father. Lots of
laughs.
Clare- Definitely Not Mr. Darcy by Karen Doornebos. This is a fun and easy summer read. It
combines the historical aspects of a Jane Austin book and the guilty pleasure of reality TV.
Bruce- Light of the World by James Lee Burke
Monica G– The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion (Audio Book) , is a quirky hilarious romance
with a most unusual premise set in Melbourne. You'll want to listen every chance you get!
Nathan-The Serpent of Venice by Christopher Moore. "It's hard to find an author that can make you literally laugh-out-loud; Christopher Moore, to me, is that author."
Natalie– Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Romance, time travel, history, Scottish Men, who could
ask for more?
Andrea- Waking the Dark by Robin Wasserman.
Ally– The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
Marsella-The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion Monica L– Innocence: a novel by Dean R. Koontz. I have not read a more unexpected and
thoughtful book in many years. A sweet and thought provoking story.
Karen-How the Light Gets In by Louise Penny. Murder, intrigue and great characters set against
the backdrop of Quebec make this book a winner.
Diane-The Tilted World by Tom Franklin. A tale of murder, moonshine, government agents and
an independent woman who finds an unexpected relationship, all which occurs amidst the 1927
historic flooding of the Mississippi River.

Technology and media are
everywhere, and today’s children will
utilize it in their learning
environments more than ever.
Not all technology is “bad” for kids!
Limit the amount of time using apps
and watching TV. Use media with your
kids. The social interaction is crucial to
the learning process, and they will love
being with you!
