THE FISH FEEDER FANTASTIC

Purpose of Creation The Fish Feeder Fantastic was created to

automatically feed my fish while getting socks for school in the morning.

Chain Reaction Elements The drawer is opened Motion of drawer pulls string Lid of fish tank closes Food falls into tank

Energy TransfersSound to Sound –

the sound of the drawer opening and the sound of the fish

tank lid closing.

Motion to Motion – the motion of the

drawer opening and the string pulling fish

tank lid closed.

Gravitational to Motion – the fish tank lid falls down and the food falls into the fish

tank.

Chemical to Motion – food is eaten by fish which is chemical and the energy

in the food lets the fish move or swim in the fish

tank.

Problems During the Building Process

Because of the moisture on the fish tank lid we unable to tape or glue the cup to the lid.

The cup could not be filled with food for the next feeding because the food would fall out of the cup.

Solutions to Problems during Building

I put a piece of cardboard in the lid and stapled a cup to it. Because the cardboard was cut to size it didn’t need to be taped or glued to the lid.

The cup was cut so that it could be filled without the food falling out but the food would still empty into the tank during feeding.
