Cross-sectoral Strategic Partnerships

• Strategic Partnership can have impact on only one field, e.g. school education, or on several fields, e.g. school education and VET.

• Even in cross-sectoral projects the consortium has to choose which field is most impacted by the project at application stage and fill in the correct application form (for this particular field).

Cross-sectoral projects are welcome!

Two types of SPs

supporting innovation: • developing innovative outputs, i.e.

Intellectual outputs • this type is open to all fields,

supporting exchange of good practices: • develop networks, increase their

capacity to operate at transnational level

• This type is open to all fields except higher education.

Why are Erasmus+ Partnerships strategic?

• carried out by organisations, not individuals;

• strategic for all partners and in line with their mission;

• produce impact on these institutions.

Why are they partnerships?

• cannot be implemented by one organisation

• or by several organisations from the same country;

• bring added value at EU level.

Various scale/impact of projects

Exchange of practice projects

Applications are assessed proportionally.

Projects supporting innovation

Depending on project objectives and nature of partners, projects will be of different scales.

Partnership composition

Partnership composition: minimum 3* organisations from at least 3 Programme Countries.

*except school education „school to school” partnerships - 2

Eligible types of organisations

All public or private organisations, e.g.:

primary and secondary schools,

VET schools,

higher education instituions,

NGOs,

firms,

associations.

‼Higher education institutions from Programme countries must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education!

Participating countries

SPs are targeted at Programme Countries:

EU countries,

Island, Liechtenstein, Norway;

Turkey; Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

and Partner Countries only if they bring essential

added value to the project (benefits should come from

Partner Countries to Programme Countries) – if this

condition is not met, the entire project will be rejected

just because of this.

Formal characteristics

Applicant: any eligible organisation from any

Programme Country (not Partner Country)

Duration of the project

SE, VET, AE: 12-36 months

HE: 24-36 months

Application process (1/2)

Deadline for applications: 21 March 2018, 12.00.00 Brussels time

Application procedure: online

Only the coordinating institution submits the application on behalf of all partners,

to the National Agency in its own country!

For application forms please check the website of the Erasmus+ National Agency of the country where the coordinating institution is based – in January 2018.

Priorities of Strategic Partnerships

A minimum requirement – each project has to be relevant to at least one of the priorities defined in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide:

• either horizontal priorities, or

• specific for the field targeted by the project, e.g. school education or VET.

Projects which are not really relevant to at least one priority will be rejected!

The INCLUSION priority Projects should address diversity and promote shared

values, equality, including gender equality, and non-discrimination and social inclusion through education.

Erasmus+ supports projects that aim to:

a) develop social, civic and intercultural competences, media literacy, and critical thinking,

and tackle discrimination and violence;

b) help disadvantaged learners improve their access to and participation in education, as well as their learning performance;

c) reduce disparities in access to digital technologies in education.

Hold on! We’re almost there!

What type of activities can be implemented?

Project Management and Implementation

Transnational Project Meetings

Intellectual outputs – only

projects supporting innovation

Multiplier events – only projects supporting innovation

Optional activity:

Mobility = learning, teaching activities

Intellectual outputs

• tangible deliverables that:

• are substantial in quality and quantity,

• prove their potential for wider use and exploitation, as well as for impact,

• such as: curricula, didactic methods, open educational resources (OER), IT tools

Mobility within SPs is called „learning, teaching and training activities” (LTT)

Mobility activities can be embedded in SP if they help achieve project's objectives

BUT CANNOT BE THE MAIN PROJECT AIM.

The types of eligible LTT activities are:

• predefined in the Programme Guide,

• different for each field (HE, SE, AE, VET).

Project budget

Maximum project budget: 450 000 euro (12 500 euro per month)

some budget categories cannot exceed a certain limit indicated in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide

The amount of EU funding should not be understood as equal to the actual project costs, which may be higher.
