PMGDISHA The Union Cabinet on 8 February 2017 approved the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA). The programme aims at making 6 crore rural households digitally literate. The outlay for the project is Rs 2351.38 crore. It targets ushering in digital literacy in rural India by March 2019. The project is in line with the announcement made by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Union Budget 2016-17. PMGDISHA is expected to be one of the largest digital literacy Programmes in world. 25 lakh candidates will be trained in FY 2016 – 17, under this scheme. 275 lakh in FY 2017 – 18; and 300 lakh in FY 2018 – 19. Implementation of Scheme would be carried out under the overall supervision of Ministry of Electronics and IT.

The mission aims to cover 1.4 crore households, provide 2.5 lakh community toilets, 2.6 lakh public toilets, and a solid waste management facility in each town.

Community toilets will be built in residential areas where it is difficult to construct individual household toilets.

Public toilets will also be constructed in designated locations such as tourist places, markets, bus stations, railway stations, etc.

Swachh Bharat Gramin 11 crore 11 lakh toilets will be built in the country. (1 lakh 34 thousand crore will be spent) Technology will be used on a large scale to convert waste into wealth in rural India in the forms of bio-fertilizer and different forms of energy. According to Census 2011, India has 55 million potential workers between the ages of 15 and 35 years in rural areas. At the same time, the world is expected to face a shortage of 57 million workers by 2020. The Yojana aims to provide training to 10 lakh rural youths for jobs by 2017. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kausalya Yojna (DDU-GKY) funds numerous skill training programs which covers almost 250 trades across a range of sectors such as Retail, Hospitality, Health, Construction, Automotive, Leather, Electrical, Plumbing, Jems and Jewellery etc. The only condition is that the skill training should be based on demand and lead to placement of at least 75% of the training.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya grameen kaushal yojana

Training centers will be developed and setup in each block, catering to the specific needs of the local youth. About 50% of the youth covered under this Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kausalya Yojna will be women and special efforts are going to be made to proactively cover particularly vulnerable tribal groups on a priority basis.

The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kausalya Yojna is going to be implemented through training partners from the private and the public sectors as well as non-profit organisations.

The Union Government approved PMKVY to provide skills training all for youth across India

The PMKVY Scheme will be implemented by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

It will provide skills training to youth, including class 10 and 12 drop outs and aims to cover about 24 lakh people.
