Set up accountability to the process!    We encourage couples to engage in discussion in a "let's discover new dynamics in our relationship" rather than "let's fix something.”

How can you create a safe environment for open discussion?  The topics covered in the Couple Checkup help generate productive conversations couples wouldn't otherwise have; conversations that apply specifically to their relationship.

• Preach a sermon series, over multiple weeks, using the themes of the Discussion Guide as your topics. Have people do the exercises along with you and your spouse each week.

• Launch small groups or Sunday/midweek classes that use the Discussion Guide as an outline for 6 to 8 sessions.

• Offer a weekend retreat where you "go deeper" into the subjects presented.

• You may want to consider having a special marriage celebration dinner or potluck. Call it a "date night" and offer a short, fun program and child care.
