• The saviour of the world (Luke 19:10)

• The Head of the Church (Col 1:18)

• Lord of all creation (Phil 2:11)

• King of Kings (Rev 19:6)

What is he like?

• Indescribably beautiful (Songs 5:10-12)

• Passionate and emotional (Eph 5:31)

• Humble servant (Phil 2 & Isaiah 53)

The Beauty of the Bridegroom I (Songs 5:10-12)

• His Head – Sovereign Leadership • His wavy hair- dedication to God and

the church, filled with energy and youthfulness

• His eyes - his omniscience, singleness of purpose, purity of discernment

• His cheeks - His inner beauty that is revealed through His emotions

• His lips - the power of His word

The Beauty of the Bridegroom II (Songs 5:10-12)

• His hands are skilful in do everything good with perfect power.

• The body or belly full of tender compassion.

• His Legs - His Walk, His Purposes

• His countenance – speaks of the impartation of God to His people

• His mouth communicates intimacy

The Bridegrooms desire for intimacy

• As the Father has loved me…. (John 15:9)

• That they may be with me (John 17:24)

• The two shall become one (Eph 5:25-31)

When is the wedding?

• Certainty but no clarity (Matt 24:36)

• Longing for his appearing (Matt 24:30)

• Watching and waiting (Matt 25:1)

• The culmination of history … a wedding

• Father is preparing a bride• Lovers not slaves… now!• We are desired!• Time to prepare• Invite others
