Why in Mark 16, Mary Madeleine and the other women focus on searching for a dead body and anointing a dead savior (Mark 16:1-1).
And in John 20, Thomas and the other disciples focus on grieving a dead cause and huddling behind dead-locked doors (John 20:19).
“If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised…Jesus from the dead will also give [you] life…” (Romans 8:11, ESV)
raising you up, as well.
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed – perplexed, but not in despair…So then death is at work in us, but life is at work in [us, as well]…Because…the one who raised…Jesus from the dead will also raise us…” (2
Corinthians 4:8-9; 12; 14).
“….all this
[that is, the message, spirit, and meaning of resurrection] is for our benefit, so that…grace… [may reach] more and more people…”
(2 Corinthians 4:15
“…There is no condemnation [no disgrace, guilt, blame]… [if we] are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life [has] set me free, [lifted me out of the old vicious circle] of sin and death.”
(Romans 8:1-2)
– wiping the slate of my messy, jumbled life – clean!
For ultimately, Paul notes, Resurrection Spirit is to overflow everywhere, touching everything, with thanksgiving “…to the glory of God…” (2 Corinthians 4:15).
“What a God we have!” Peter exclaims in 1 Peter 1, “…Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life, and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven, and [a] future [that] starts now!...” (1 Peter 1:3, The Message).
“If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised…Jesus from the dead will also give [you] life…” (Romans 8:11, ESV)
raising you up, as well.
“What a God we have!...Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life, and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven, and [a] future [that] starts now!...”
(1 Peter 1:3, The Message).
