The Zimmer + Rohde collection chronicles the fascination of travel. Following the footsteps of Marco Polo, we set off on an expedition around the globe of the 21st century to discover the amazing variety of different places and cultures on our planet. Along our journey, we drew inspiration from exotic colour combinations and unusual shapes, shedding new light on the old and familiar.

The Indonesian part of the island Borneo refers to a tradition of more than 100 years in the cultivation of rattan. Our latticework fabric Borneo with its handmade look is inspired of the lush rattan gardens of Benuaq, a tribe of the Dayaks in Eastern Borneo. This fabric consists of multi-coloured moiré yarns and impresses with a surprising transparent effect.

CARNET DE VOYAGE

Diese Kollektion ist ein Tagebuch von einer Reise nach Indien, die in Rajasthan beginnt, nach Kaschmir und über die Berge des Himalayas führt. Es erzählt von den

Turbanträgern in Jaipur, der Pink City, und von den Palästen in Rajasthan, von Kamelmärkten in der Wüste von Jaisalmer, vom indischen Straßenverkehr mit seinen

Kühen und von den Hausbooten auf dem Dal-See vor den Gipfeln des Himalayas. In unserem „Carnet“ befinden sich ebenfalls Mitbringsel: die Farben der Saris, Pfauen,

künstlerisch gebundene Turbane, bunte Straßenbilder, die Kargheit der Wüste,der blaue Himmel und die Farben des Himalayas.

This collection represents the diary of a journey to India that begins in Rajasthan, and leads to Kashmir and over the Himalaya Mountains. It tells of the turban wearers in

Jaipur, the Pink City, and the palaces of Rajasthan; of camel markets in the desert of Jaisalmer, of Indian street traffic with cows, and of the houseboats on Lake Dal at the

foot of the Himalayas. There are likewise souvenirs in our ‘carnet’: the colours of the saris, peacocks, artistically-wound turbans, colourful street scenes, the sparseness of

the desert, the blue sky and the shades of the Himalayas.

Cette collection relate les journées de voyage à travers l’Inde, entre le Rajasthan et le Kashmir, en passant par les sommets de l’Himalaya. Elle raconte les hommes

enturbannés à Jaipur, la Cité rose, et les palais du Rajasthan, les caravanes de chame-aux dans le désert de Jaisalmer, la circulation dans les rues indiennes, au milieu des vaches, et les maisons flottantes sur le lac Dal, face aux montagnes de l’Himalaya.

Notre « Carnet » recèle aussi d’innombrables souvenirs précieux : couleurs des saris et des paons, turbans savamment noués, images des rues multicolores, austérité des

déserts, azur du ciel et teintes de l’Himalaya.

che indossano il turbante a Jaipur, la Città Rosa, e dei palazzi nel Rajasthan, dei mercati di cammelli nel deserto di Jaisalmer, del traffico stradale indiano con le sue mucche

e delle case galleggianti sul lago Dal davanti alle cime dell’Himalaya. Nel nostro carnet si trovano anche tipiche impressioni come i colori dei sari, i pavoni, i turbanti avvolti con maestria, le strade variopinte, l’aridità del deserto, il cielo azzurro e i colori dell’Himalaya.
