About 0871 Numbers0871 – a very rewarding prospect

It works like this: Telecoms World gives you a rebate, from 3.25p up to 6p per minute, every
time a customer rings you on your 0871 number. The more calls you receive, the bigger the
rebate, which you could perhaps use towards staff salaries, telephone costs or technical
support services.
What is a 0871 number?
A 0871 number is a business number in which the caller pays a national rate regardless of
where they are in the UK.
How do 0871 numbers work?
When a customer calls you on your 0871 number, the call is automatically directed to a
number you specify, usually to your landline business number.

About 0344, 0345, 0370, 0371 Numbers
These numbers have been created for businesses and charities which at present have 0844,
0845, 0870 or 0871 numbers and wish to have a 03 number. If, for example, you have a
number starting with 0845, it will change to 0345. Similarly, if you have a 0870 prefix, it
will change to 0370.
03 numbers are non-geographic, giving your business a valuable UK-wide presence. They work
in the same way as 08 numbers, but with one big, and customer-tempting, difference: the cost
of calling them. Customers only pay the same amount as a landline call to a 01 or a 02 number
and the price is the same for calls from mobiles. 03 numbers are included in any discount

0300 telephone numbers, part of the 0300 range, have been allocated to public sector
bodies and non-profit organisations such as charities. The Ofcom website gives guidance on
who is eligible to use 0300 numbers. 0300 numbers are non-geographic, giving your business
a valuable UK-wide presence. They work in the same way as 08 numbers, but with one big,

professional broadcaster. A menu of up to ten follow with the caller asked to choose the
appropriate department via their telephone keypad. The best way to illustrate how

Call Queue
Call Queue welcomes the caller, which means that the call will be answered immediately.
The system then dials across to the call centre until all of the lines are full. When the
call centre is full our systems detect this and stack the calls. As a line becomes available,
we present another call across. Whilst calls are stacked, we play music and marketing
messages to the caller to keep them on the line.

Call Reports - Target summary report
Indicates the number of calls answered and unanswered, including the number of unique
callers for the specified time period. The ability to identify unique callers is useful as it
excludes individuals using the redial button. For example, you could have 50 missed calls,
but only one unique number, so you’ve only missed one person.
Target overflow report
Identifies the number of calls that were unanswered or engaged, helping high-light drop
offs as the call attempts to flow to different targets.
Daily report
Helps to identify call flow, such as when the busiest time of the day is, which are the
busiest days in a month and how many calls are received out of working hours. This allows
you to plan for these periods, maximising the resources available to answer calls.

Day/evening/weekend summary report
Supplements the daily report, categorising the calls into three commercial time-bands
that are generally used for billing purposes.
Call originator report
Provides you with the ability to view successful / lost calls by postcode, TV region,
country, county, and STD code.
Simultaneous call report
Includes the maximum number of simultaneous calls received and the number of
simultaneous calls that got an engaged tone. This allows you to see the maximum
number of lines being used throughout the day. The report also calculates how many
extra lines you need to cover busy periods!

By using state of the art technology called Carrier Pre-Selection (CPS) we utilise a host
of different carriers to ensure we get the best price for each individual call. We can then
reflect these fantastic savings in our price to you, ensuring you pay the bare minimum
for your calls. Signing up simply involves completing an application form and within 14
days your account will be active. You'll continue to pay your line rental to your current

BT are currently marketing their new Business Plan Tariff implying business customers will
make large savings on their call costs. In our opinion, the BT Business Plan is a clever piece
of marketing. Their new capped rate of 20p for local and national calls and 25p for calls
to mobiles seems very attractive but our research has indicated that many business
customers will see an increase in telephone costs as a result of the package.
Facts:
Call costs: Our rate per minute is significantly lower than BT's business rate on either their
standard or tailored tariffs. Hence you save money.

Call duration: Data from Energis (one of the UK's largest network operators) shows
that 90% of business calls are under 3 minutes and our data shows the average
duration of a call is less than 2 minutes. Therefore BT's capped rates make little
difference on a typical business call spend.
Setup charge for calls to mobiles: BT charges a 7p setup charge for every call to a
mobile. We do not.
Minimum Contract Period: The BT business plan requires customers to commit to
a 1 year contract. You can cancel with us at any time, even within the first year.
Minimum Threshold: BT customers will have to commit to a fixed spend threshold
(claw backs will be invoked if thresholds are not reached). Spend as much or as
little as you like and enjoy the same low rates.
