2Recipe Selection + Tempering Furnace Control
The redesigned Owl™ 2 Recipe Selection + Tempering Furnace Control System is a
rugged, non-contact optical system to improve tempering furnace control. The
Owl measures glass thickness, type of low-E coating (one, two, or three silver
layers, as well as fourth surface low-E), glass dimensions, and sheet locations.
Inspection information is sent directly to the furnace control system, enabling
the furnace to automatically select a recipe and adjust the heat profile. With the
Owl you will (1) optimize the heat profile and cycle time, (2) minimize distortion,
and (3) optimize flatness. The result is a substantial increase in throughput.
Productivity and quality have been proven to increase over 20%!
The Owl works on batch tempering lines and is effective on clear glass, hard
or soft coat low-E, tinted or reflective glass. The system measures glass widths
of 500-3,500 mm (20-138 inches).

The Bottom LineWith the Owl on your line, you will eliminate human error, improve furnace utilization, increase throughput, and reduce waste. Productivity + quality improvement = higher profits.
