Student Activities

TECHNOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION (TA)

❑ Well known among the students

❑ One of the oldest student run body for the welfare of ICT

❑ Inception in 1934

❑ Organizes intra- and inter- collegiate events throughout the

year

❑ Takes initiative in social activities

Motto: Student Welfare through activities ensuring overall

personality development. Every student at the institute learns in a

healthy environment giving them opportunity to showcase their

talents.

VORTEX:

• Industry Defined Problem is a flagship event which attracts

Chemical Engineers from all around

• Masterclass lecture series included a talk from Dr. Prakash

Amte and Dr. Mandakini Amte

• Vortex attracts people in large number for it’s general series

events such as The Ultimate Detective

MANZAR:

• Cultural inter-collegiate festival includes events such as singing,

dance, fashion show, street dance, band

• Hosts various talented artists like Farhan Akhtar, Vivian

“DIVINE” Fernandes, Arijit Singh, Nikhil D’Souza, Shaan, Sahil

Shah, Sapan Verma, Biswa Kalyan Rath among many more

Sportsaga:

• Sportsaga 2019 was opened by 2010 Commonwealth Games

(Boxing) Gold medallist – Manoj Kumar

• Sportsaga has sports 23 events and a team representing ICT in

every event

• Consistent participation from teams all over Maharashtra

SOCIAL INNITIATIVES:

• Awaaz organizes cleanliness drives at locations of importance

(Elephanta caves, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Juhu Beach)

• Yatn drive undertakes tree plantation as a way of giving back to

the nature

• ICT Marathon attracts a participation of around 3000 people

who run for a cause – Heroes of the Nation, Benefit of Elderly,

Sustainability

ART CLUB:

• Organizes various workshops and competition for the students

of the institute

• Photowalk, Pottery, Key-chain making, Art fair

MUSIC CLUB:

• Two divisions: Dance and Vocals & Instrumentals

• Organizes performances of dance and music on various

occasions such as Monsson Night, Funtech, Euphoria, etc.

• Contingents from both the wings represent ICT in outside

competitions

MANTHAN CLUB:

• Manthan arranges various programs in marathi language which

is the mother tongue of majority of people in the institute

• These include Maifil - classical singing (Vinay Ramdasan), Gappa

Tappa – talk show (Sudhir Phadke), Great Bhet- interview

(Subodh Bhave), K K Kavitecha – Marathi poem reciting, the

Funtech Marathi Drama

LITERARY CLUB:

• Literary Club publishes the annual magazine – The Spirit of ICT

• Includes write-us, photos, poems from students

• Organized the Terribly Tiny Tales workshop - writing stories in a

few words

ENTREPREUNERSHIP CELL

E-SUMMIT 2019 the annual event includes -

● Revive and Survive - From reviving a failed startup to growing it

to new heights, participants pitched, questioned and invested

over two days and were mentored by Mr. Sarjerao Doltade, the

ex-General Secretary for Technological Association, who has

three startups to his own name.

● Marketing Box - From Harry Potter complete collection to Ram

Mandir, it was all made out of a box. Judged by our professor

Kane, students gained insight into how to sell ideas out of a

box.

● 120 Seconds - From ways to curb air pollution, to solutions to

the world education problem, 120 seconds was an event of

pitching rapidly. Participants pitched from a variety of topics

and selected the one they wish to make a change in.

● Dhanda - From selling laddoo to selling PubG, Participants were

given Rs.100 and asked to grow it as they can. Followed by a

pesky volunteer throughout the day, they roamed the campus

and outside to multiply. Some even went as far as 4 figures.

● Entrepreneurs in Spotlight - Anurag Mehrotra, Charcoal Eats

(Co-Founder, CEO) Sandeep Kumar (founder CEO, product

dossier) and R. Shridhar (innovation facilitator, tedx speaker)

visited ICT and enlightened and inspired young minds.

BOMBAY TECHNOLOGIST:

● Metamorphosis - flagship event

● Platform for the budding future pioneers of Chemical

Technology where they pitch their idea before potential

venture capitalists and gain valuable insights.

● Aims to cater to the needs of aspiring startups right from their

ideation and the initial lean phase towards the growth phase.

● This competition is a golden opportunity for students to pitch

their ideas before potential investors.
