Aimed at engineers of all levels of experience and disciplines, this presentation hosts a range of current and relevant content related to some commonly overlooked concepts in the areas of welding and metallurgy.

Driven by industry leader Dr Alan McLeod BSc FIEAust FIM3, the evening will seek to educate attendees working or interested in industries that incorporate the application of welding and metallurgical concepts.

Alan has worked in his field of metallurgy for over 40 years, his experience including spending time with CQ University as a Senior Research Fellow, WTIA (now Welding

Australia) as the CQ Technical Manager, ETRS as the Principal Metallurgist, and currently as Director and Metallurgist of Metal Strength Consulting.

Outside of the workplace, Alan has a long list of publications and contributions including research reports, communications, seminar contributions, papers, case studies, technical notes, lectures and training courses.

Alan’s presentation will draw upon summaries of noteworthy failure analyses, case studies and points on fatigue design.
