• Completion of a practical assessment tasks which will be fully explained by your facilitator

TRAINING

Vocational education and training (VET) can be

described as any form of activity and experience

leading to understandings or skills relevant to

work and that can be measured according to industry and work based standards.

Commonwealth, State and Territory departments

Training Packages are developed by industry through National Industry Skills Councils or by enterprises to meet the

identified training needs of specific industries or industry sectors. To gain

national endorsement, developers must provide evidence of extensive

consultation and support within the industry area or enterprise

MONITORING WORK

It is important that you take responsibility for your own tasks

This includes monitoring your own work performance to ensure that your job is

completed in an accurate and timely manner

Look at the quality of the work you are doing and jobs you are completing

MANAGING WORKWhen planning your own work you need to:

• set clear, realistic, achievable, stretch goals which map against the organisation's goals and against the needs of other sections/ divisions within the organisation

• break goals down into smaller, achievable and measurable tasks – objectives

• determine the resources and inputs required to achieve goals

• determine the most effective strategies • set realistic time frames for achievement• determine the necessary quality standards and

measures of performance • self-monitor and self-evaluate your work to ensure

that it meets quality and time requirements

Feedback is the process of gathering information to determine whether your

performance is meeting the expectations of others

What this means is that they take the time and make the effort to know who their customers

COMMUNICATING WITH CUSTOMERS

How do you find out what your customers want?

• Communicate with them• Give them information about your

organisation • and about the product/ service you supply• Ask them what they want • Get feedback from them

RELATIONSHIPS

An organisation that has a culture of collaboration and cooperation can encourage easily achieved

work outcomes and goals

Working collaboratively (ie working together) with different groups, identifying and catering for the

needs of others can also assist in building positive relationships
