provide a banner or sign for display at
the Ride-in Day (Sat 28th), as this is a
great way for us to acknowledge your

We need sponsors to help us come up with this kind
of money, and that is where you come in!
We would love you to sponsor us on the ride.
We welcome any amount, big or small, as every
dollar is put to good use. We are all volunteers,
from the riders, the road support crew and
administration and we take immense pride in
keeping our expenses to an absolute minimum so
that our community can reap the full benefit.
We ask that you dig deep and support such a worthy
cause that is also a local cause. Sponsorship details
are on the back of this brochure.
On Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th March 2015,
the Boort Cycling Team, led by local doctor
Ashraf Takla will take on the challenge of riding
520km in 24 hours as part of the Murray to
Moyne Cycle Relay, for the seventh year
running.
The Murray to Moyne was founded in 1987 by Hester and Graham “Woody” Woodrup. The event has grown from 3 teams raising $10,000 in 1987, to more than 1200 riders representing 150 organisations raising around $1.3 million for hospitals & health services.
All proceeds from the Boort Team’s efforts are
donated to Boort District Health to be used to
purchase advanced emergency equipment
which will benefit the local Boort and
surrounding communities who visit the hospital
for treatment.
Over the past 6 years, the Boort Team has raised
over $130,000 for Boort District Health. This
year we are aiming to raise another $20,000.00
to assist with the establishment of the Urgent
Care Centre in the redevelopment of the new
Boort District Health Facility.
Please come along to Nolen’s Park, Boort, on
Saturday the 28th of March to meet the riders and
crew as they changeover and be part of the family
fun. Time of arrival is between 1—2.30pm
It’s just like our own little Tour de France, when
people line the road, clap and cheer the riders.
There will be a sausage sizzle, major raffle draw,
merry-go-round, and other family activities.
Of course the other great bonus of making a
financial contribution, either personal or business,
is that ........all donations are tax deductible!
