Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics)
type period of study SWS ECTS-Credits Master 4 63 117
description Machine- and plant construction is a high-tech branch and is one of Germany’s biggest and most prospective industrial branches. By combining machine constructions with electronic, measuring- and control engineering, as well as information technology, completely new products and processes have emerged. In the course of progress in the globalisation of economics, graduates of the Master’s degree in “Mechanical Engineering” have almost endless employment possibilities both in their home country and abroad. Whereby the Master’s degree opens up attractive management positions not only in big companies, but particularly in small and medium scale enterprises, which offer promotion opportunities. Recent graduates are particularly popular. Robotics, sensor and laser technology are in addition to the software branch, the innovative branches in which specialists are increasingly required. Good employment opportunities are also being offered by the automobile industry and in construction consultancies. Other employers can be found in the aerospace industry, electrical engineering, telecommunication, medical technology as well as chemical and pharmaceutical industry. In addition institutions of higher education, research institutes as well as civil service also come into play for graduates of the Master’s degree courses.

Production Technology
lecturer department Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerd Witt semester cycle language requirements 2 English SWS presence hours self-study hours workload ECTS-Credits 3 45 105 150 5 description The technical field is divided into executive and into theory oriented parts. The executive part contains offer preparations and offer processing, construction, production planning, manufacturing and mounting. The theory oriented part deals with business strategies, organization and management, task procedure/ task management and production strategies. The main goal of the production technique is optimization of processes, either through revision of pre-existing concepts, through introduction of new strategies or through a synergy. A further aid, which is represented within the framework of the lecture, is the simulation. With its help potential mistakes can be recognized and analyzed and therefore be avoided. So the simulation can optimise existing processes.
