SWAAD 2005 – A Taste of India Highlights. 600+ guests. Ticketed event. Students – 10 USD, Non-

students – 12 USD, Children – Free. The biggest annual fund-raiser of AID-TAMU –

6000 USD. 50+ student volunteers. Cooking done by

students. Extensive Reaching Out program.

SWAAD 2005 – A Taste of India Attractions. Food. Festival of lights – light-based displays and exhibits. Discovery of India – An Indian Classical Music audio

presentation. Transcendental Emotions – A video show of

Bollywood film songs. A collage and photo exhibit stall. A handicraft stall. An ethnic-wear stall. A Mehendi stall.

Heavy rush at the entrance. Children were allowed free entry.

A new mechanism for crowd control was in place for Swaad 2005.
