About Hector's dolphin• Physical Characteristics• Diet• Social Structure• Breeding

Facts :• Hector’s dolphin was named after James Hector who is believed to be the first person to have examined this species.• These dolphins are only found living in the waters of New Zealand throughout the year.• Due to pollution, boating and other activities over the past 30 – 40 years number of these dolphins have reduced from around 26,000 to less than 7,500 2

The main tasks of the project• Energy efficiency;• Building services;• Green roofs and facades;• Calculation of investment and returns in passive house and retrofit projects.

3

Energy efficiency• Analysing current situation• Thermal bridges• Choosing materials and windows• Energy demand on heating• Costs

4

Energy efficiency. Current situation• U-values (old construction):

Energy efficiency. Thermal bridges solutions• Bring windows out into the insulation layer• Insulate balcony slab• Quality of construction works

7

Energy efficiency. Insulation• Foamglas® insulation – Low environmental pollution– 66% recycled glass– Only renewable energy is used

8

9

Energy efficiency. Windows and doors• Triple glazed windows U=0,78• Double glazed in basement and stairwell U= 1,0• Stairwell facade• New entrance doors • Balconies are glazed with tempered glass

Energy efficiency. Energy Management effect

Some examples of design:

Green roofs and facades• Green roof Benefits: • Stemming the flow of water off a roof;

• Noise reduction• Blocks out UV light• Lessens heat gain• Additional layer of thermal insulation • Green space in a city.• Absorb the high levels of carbon dioxide 16

Green roofs and facades• Green roof TechnologyVEDAFLOR ® green roof Plus9. Sedum, small vegetation
