For more than two decades, campers have enjoyed

NYC! Full-day camps include Gymnastics, Sports
Academy, Elite Soccer, Basketball, Golf, Performance
Golf, Ice Hockey, Acceleration Hockey, Ice Skating,
Ninja + Parkour and Urban Adventure for teens.
Chelsea Piers also offers Preschool and Junior camps.
With up to 11 one-week sessions and so many sports
to choose from, there’s a camp for every athlete and
every schedule. Our coaches are dedicated year-round
to providing athletes with a clean, safe, friendly and fun
environment.
Transportation from many Manhattan and Brooklyn
neighborhoods and an After Care program are available.

OUR LEADERSHIPCraig has been the Summer Camp Director for 15
summers and a part of the Chelsea Piers family for
almost two decades. Craig is a former competitive
hockey player and coaches year-round at Sky Rink.
Prior to his role as Assistant Camp Director in 2019,
Franco spent five years as a camp counselor, soccer
coach and Summer Camp intern. Franco and Craig
are dedicated to providing a fun and safe environment
for children of all ages. When asked to identify their
favorite part of summer camp, the answer is easy —
“Watching the campers grow up with us over the years
and creating lifelong memories and friendships.” They
constantly work to provide the best camp experience
for campers and their families. We are excited to
welcome new and returning campers for another
fun-filled summer. Be sure to check out our

PRESCHOOL ICE SKATING 3 - 4 YEARS
Whether your child is an aspiring figure skater or
hockey player, this is a perfect introduction to the magic
of being on the ice. The program is specially designed
for preschoolers, using creative play to teach the
foundations of skating—balance, falling safely, marching
and gliding—as well as off-ice movement and dance
classes. Helmets and skates are provided. Campers
must be potty-trained.
JUNIOR ICE HOCKEY 4 - 5 YEARS
Junior Ice Hockey Camp provides a longer day
opportunity for 4 - 5 year olds. Players focus on
basic skills instruction, movement classes and
the fundamentals of ice hockey with two on-ice
sessions. Full equipment is required. Campers
must bring lunch from home
OUR STAFFOur accomplished staff of professional coaches and
counselors provide fun, innovative and progressive
training programs. Coaches include former collegiate
and professional hockey players/figure skaters. A low
camper-to-instructor ratio ensures personal attention
and maximizes safety.

DIRECTORLINDSAY RITCHINGS is the Preschool
and Junior Gymnastics Camps Director.
During the school year, she is the Director of
the Avenues School WAM program. Lindsay has been a
part of Chelsea Piers since June 2017. With a degree in
Health and Early Childhood Education, she loves to instill
healthy habits in children while allowing them to discover
and explore.
JUNIOR 4 - 5 YEARS
A step up from preschool, Junior Gymnastics Camp
extends through 1:45pm with an extended day option.
Campers are introduced to the fundamentals of
gymnastics with a focus on improving their skills. Each
week of camp features a fun and exciting theme filled
with exploration, art projects, sensory activities, the
water slide, introduction to various sports and more. Our
coaches are with us year-round; they have dedicated
their careers to the development of young athletes and
their safety. Campers must bring lunch from home.
PRESCHOOL 3 - 4 YEARS
Through creative play and supportive instruction,
preschoolers are introduced to gymnastics, sports,
dance and rock climbing with emphasis placed on
the enjoyment of movement. Each week of camp
features an exciting theme with art projects, sensory
activities, water play and more. Our coaches are with
us year-round; they have dedicated their careers to
the development of young athletes and their safety.
Preschool camp is half-day with an AM or PM option.
Campers must be fully potty-trained.

hired not only for their knowledge of gymnastics, rock
climbing, dance and sports, but also for their ability to
teach and lead young athletes.

Gymnasts of all levels, from beginners
to advanced, experience the thrill of
learning new gymnastics techniques
while perfecting current skills.
Gymnastics Camp allows campers to enjoy our
state-of-the-art tumble tracks, in-ground trampolines
and deep foam pits. Each day, campers receive expert
instruction in the gym and beyond. Daily recreational
periods include soccer, basketball, baseball, bowling
or golf. In addition, campers get the chance to use
our 17-foot waterslide.

OUR STAFFWe pride ourselves on having some of the best coaches and staff members in
the world. Our coaches are with us year-round – so they know our programs and
philosophy inside and out. Each coach is an expert in their field and is able to give
individual instruction to each camper throughout the week.
Sports Academy is an athlete’s dream. Basketball, soccer, baseball and volleyball headline
the roster of sports included during day-to-day activities
at camp. In addition, campers have the opportunity
to bowl, rock climb and do gymnastics! The goal of
Sports Academy is to offer young campers the best
place to play, while teaching them a wide range of
skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
Through spirited play geared towards individual ability
levels, campers learn a variety of sports and gain self-
confidence. At Sports Academy, we firmly believe that
confidence is the key to success and therefore, teach
campers to feel good about sports and their abilities.

soccer and youth basketball
departments at Chelsea Piers. In 2002, Coach Ron
founded the Chelsea Piers Soccer Club, a travel
program for kids ages 8-17. In 2010, Coach Bernard
founded the Chelsea Piers Evolution basketball
program. Cumulatively, both coaches have over
30 years of coaching experience at Chelsea Piers.

Learn to CLIMB, RUN, JUMP, PUSH and PULL at Ninja + Parkour Camp! This popular camp is inspired by the television show,
American Ninja Warrior® and introduces campers to
Parkour. Starting with the basic fundamentals of tricking
and Parkour, campers train in the art of movement, face
challenging obstacles and learn flipping techniques
from our experienced instructors. Perfect for campers
looking to safely explore their physical capabilities in
a creative, fun and fast-paced environment.
OUR STAFFThe Ninja + Parkour coaches are experts in rock
climbing, gymnastics, dance, sports and fun! Our staff
members and instructors are with us year-round.
DIRECTORAMY SIEGEL is the Director of
Ninja + Parkour camp. This is Amy’s second
season overseeing Ninja + Parkour camp.

OUR STAFFOur enthusiastic and professional coaches are dedicated
to providing a structured environment for campers to improve
soccer skills. Campers also enjoy special appearances by
top collegiate and professional coaches and athletes.
Elite Soccer Camp is designed for soccer players and teams looking to take their game and fitness training to the next level.
Expert instructors work with each athlete to improve
individual skills and tactical awareness through small-
sided activities, drills and full scrimmages. Based on the
Field House’s turf soccer fields, campers also utilize
the outdoor grass field in Hudson River Park (just steps
away) and basketball courts during recreational periods.
Coaches work with players to develop acceleration, core
stabilization, plyometric and strength training. Tactical
and technical training includes dribbling, shooting, foot
skills, goalie skills and defense transitions.
DIRECTORRON RESTREPO runs the soccer
department at the Field House and is
the President of the Cosmopolitan Junior
Soccer League in NYC. This is Ron’s 17th
summer being a part of Sports Academy Camp.

Ice Skating Camp at Sky Rink
offers comprehensive instruction
for recreational level skaters who
want to enjoy the coolest sport in
the world.
Ice Skating Camp follows the Learn to Skate USA
curriculum, which maintains that skills learned at each
level build on the preceding ones. There are six Basic
levels (Basic 1 – Basic 6); each level has six to seven
skills taught in a progressive, group-based format.
After skaters pass Basic levels 1 – 6, skaters progress
to the Pre-Free Skate level. Alternatively, skaters
who learned in hockey skates may move on to our
Hockey Camp.
OUR STAFFSky Rink has assembled an accomplished staff of
professional coaches and counselors to provide fun,
innovative and progressive training programs for skaters
of all abilities. Coaches include former international and
Olympic competitors.

learned how to skate at Sky Rink when she was just
10 years old. She has been a skating coach since 2011and
enjoys sharing her love of skating with the next generation.

Ice Hockey Camp offers
comprehensive ice hockey
instruction for boys and girls.
Hockey camp is dedicated to providing an environment
that is challenging, educational and enjoyable — for
beginner to advanced players. Campers improve their
individual skills and leave camp with a game plan for
future skills development. We are proud to offer a
program that allows all players, regardless of skill level,
to participate for multiple weeks.
Players learn what it takes to start games fresher
and finish stronger while increasing confidence and
eagerness to perform.
Note: Full equipment is required. Campers are encouraged to visit Skater’s Edge Pro Shop, located off the Sky Rink lobby, for outfitting and equipment needs. Please visit the website for a full list of required equipment.

OUR STAFFThe Acceleration Hockey Camp staff is comprised of professional, caring
coaches and counselors who are committed to helping campers learn and
experience ice hockey in a fun and safe environment. Our coaches work
with the players to improve their individual skills in a fun, yet challenging,
environment and leave camp with a game plan for future skills development.
Acceleration Hockey Camp
takes hockey instruction to
the next level.
With low player-to-coach ratios and an experienced
staff, motivated athletes can improve their skating and
hockey skills. Across two Acceleration groups (9-12
year olds are grouped into Acceleration Minor, 12-16
year olds are grouped in Acceleration Major), campers
receive intense on-ice instruction. Campers also receive
off-ice training at Sky Rink’s Top Shelf Hockey Training
Center, specialized goaltender training plus much more.
Full equipment and a minimum of three years of playing
experience are required.
*Note: Players younger than 12 with less than 3 years of playing experience may be accepted with Hockey Director’s approval or 1 year of travel team.

Our campers receive individual and group instruction
that focuses on proper grip, posture and body alignment
using video swing analysis to develop a consistent and
reliable golf swing. Golf Camp also features daily recre-
ational periods where campers experience other sports
throughout the facility including rock climbing, bowling,
basketball and more.
Each Friday, campers showcase their new skills during
a 9-hole round of golf at a nearby 18-hole, par three
golf course. Transportation and lunch are provided.
OUR STAFFOur outstanding teaching professionals include
PGA/LPGA certified coaches that are trained in
working with young golfers to make camp both
fun and educational.
PERFORMANCE GOLF AGES 10 - 16
Performance Golf
Camp is for junior
golfers who have
played the game,
show potential for
skill development
and are dedicated
to taking their game to the
next level. The camp takes a holistic
approach to cover all aspects of the
game, including both the mental and
physical side.
The weekly schedule combines a
variety of elements, including: short
game, full swing, scoring, etiquette,
video analysis, rounds of golf at a
local course and course management
strategies. Campers utilize TPI Fitness
Screening, a TPI-generated workout
programs, Flightscope, K-Vest 9 and
Boditrak technologies.
Camp features include three local
trips to a golf course and each
Friday, campers get the chance to
compete in a tournament style format.
Transportation and lunch are provided
for each trip.

LEAD COACHESTIM TOWNSEND is the
Lead Instructor of Golf Camp,
Tim has been a Class A PGA member since
1995 and has worked with four “Top 100
Teachers.” He was named Chelsea Piers PGA
Teacher of the Year in 2004 and 2005 and
Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2015.
CHANCE SCHEFFING
is the Lead Instructor of
Performance Golf Camp. Chance is a Class A
PGA Member Certified in Teaching and Coaching,
a First Tee Certified Assistant Coach and a U.S.
Kids Top 50 Certified Instructor. In 2017, he was
Chelsea Piers Coach of the Year.
Golf Camp offers junior golfers of all abilities the unique opportunity
to learn the game from experienced, enthusiastic and supportive golf
professionals at one of the country’s premier training facilities.

OUR STAFFOur basketball counselors and coaches are experienced
in inspiring teens to challenge themselves and build
camaraderie with fellow campers. Coaches include
former NBA scouts and collegiate-level players.
Basketball Camp allows players to
fine-tune all aspects of their game,
equipping them with the tools needed
to compete at their best level.
Training focuses on shooting, passing, ball handling,
rebounding, one-on-one moves and defense skills.
While building on the fundamentals, players learn the
value of man-to-man defense, team defense, transition
game, court awareness, post moves, footwork, hustle
and sportsmanship. Players work each day to improve
their agility, speed and flexibility. A maximum of 20
campers per week ensures individual attention and
player success. Two years of basketball experience
is required.
Basketball Camp is located at Chelsea Piers Fitness on
Pier 60. The facility features three hardwood basketball
courts, extensive cardiovascular and strength training
areas, and an indoor running track.

been involved in Summer Camp
programs for over 10 years.

Urban Adventure offers teens
instruction in kayaking, stand
up paddle boarding, rock
climbing and sailing, as well as
opportunities to participate in
more traditional sports such as
basketball, soccer, volleyball,
batting cages, golf and more.
Regardless of ability level, teens are introduced to
a variety of sports and activities in a fun and relaxed
setting. Weekly activities include kayaking on
Tuesdays and sailing every Thursday. Campers put
their newly acquired skills to use on weekly field
trips to RPM Raceway, Rye Playland, Bear Mountain
for hiking and more!
The kayak program uses a variety of safety-certified
sea kayaks, selected to match each camper’s size
and experience level. Both the sailing and kayaking
programs make use of the Hudson River and
New York Harbor — one of the finest and cleanest
natural harbors in the nation.

How are the children grouped in each camp? Chelsea Piers carefully groups children based on age and grade. For additional questions, please call 212.336.6846.
Can I request my child to be with his/her friend? Of course! We will do our best to fulfill each family’s request. The earlier we know the better, so please keep us posted.
Is there a Summer Camp uniform? All camps are different. For details, refer to your Camp Handbook – located at chelseapiers.com/summer-camp.
Who are the camp instructors and counselors? One of the best aspects of Chelsea Piers Summer Camp is that 90% of our staff works here year-round, so they know our programs and philosophy inside and out. We pride ourselves on having some of the best coaches and staff members in the world, including former Olympic athletes. Each coach is an expert in their field and is able to give individual instruction to each camper throughout the week.
What if I need to bring my camper in late, or want to pick him/her up early? Just email our office at camps@chelseapiers.com and we will notify your Camp Director. You can also fill out an early pick-up sheet in the morning during check-in.
Whom do I call when I have questions throughout the summer? You can always give our camp office a call with questions at 212.336.6846 or email us at camps@chelseapiers.com. They are able to connect you with each camp’s Director for a direct conversation.
What if my child is a “picky” eater? Chelsea Piers has a variety of nutritious meals to choose from. Our vendors include fresh&co, Piers Pizza Company, and Abigail Kirsch catering. Lunch options include fresh fruit, yogurt, mixed vegetables, salad, sandwiches, bagels, pizza, pasta, chicken, meatloaf and more. Our camp counselors make sure each child has a healthy option.
Will we need to pack sunblock? Sports Academy, Urban Adventure and Golf camps do spend some time outside – so we would recommend that you pack sunblock.
Can we add additional camp weeks? Absolutely! Register online up to Wednesday of the previous week. If you require transportation you must register by Tuesday.
Is there a time when parents can watch? Yes! We host a variety of shows and Field Days during the summer that parents can attend. Please check the weekly schedule for specific dates and times.
Are the camp buses air-conditioned? All of our buses are air-conditioned. Each bus is fully licensed and equipped with seat belts, radio dispatch and a Chelsea Piers bus counselor. Buses pick up and drop off at convenient locations throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. For more information, please visit pages 32 and 33.

What does my child do in After Care? After Care provides campers with time to relax after their long day of activities. Campers participate in a variety of games and activities.
Is there a camp nurse? Yes, there is a summer camp nurse on-site at all times.
What if my child has severe allergies and/or an EpiPen? Please let the camp office know about your child’s allergy. We have a camp nurse on-site as well as an EpiPen certified staff.
What’s a typical camp day like? Besides focusing on each Camp’s core sports, each camp has a daily recreational period where campers explore everything that Chelsea Piers has to offer. Please see each camp’s sample schedule for more details.

TRANSPORTATIONAt Chelsea Piers we strive to make your life
easier. We partner with Selby Transportation
to provide full-day campers with bus service to
and from Chelsea Piers.
Licensed school buses pick up and drop
off campers at a wide variety of convenient
locations in Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn.
Estimated pick-up time is
7:15am - 8:05am and drop-off is
4:35pm - 5:15pm.
Transportation is an additional $160 per
week. Rates are subject to change.
NOTE: Transportation may only be added or revised up to
the Tuesday prior to the camp session. When transportation
is chosen we email your child’s pick-up time by the
Friday before he or she starts camp. Transportation is not
available for short-week options.
AFTER CAREWe also offer a daily After Care Program at
the Field House from 4:30pm - 6:00pm. After
Care activities include board games and videos.
Parents may register for one day or up to five days
per week. Transportation is not available for
campers in After Care. A late fee of $30/every
half hour will be charged for pick-ups after 6:00pm.
