Research

Advising“Advisors must look beyond comfort levels in technology and continually enhance individual skills to meet the needs of students today and in the future. Advisors need to look at how technologies enable them to enhance, not limit or weaken, the quality of the conversation with advisees” (Nutt, 2005).

Conclusions

Students who completed the module prior to the advising appointment… Better understood the programmatic information. Had more time available for developmental advising which

lead to more deeper and meaningful conversations. Were more likely to complete an accurate 4 year graduation

plan Change of knowledge between pre and post

assessment same whether taught in person or online. If taught online more meaningful in person conversations.

Stage 2: Determine Acceptable Evidence How will we know if students have achieved desired

results? Understanding? Proficiency?

Stage 3: Plan Learning Experiences & Instruction Develop appropriate instructional activities that address
