INSTALLATION AND SERVICE INSTRUCTIONSFOR

STREAMLINE® LP3 LED LIGHTS

SAFETY MESSAGE TO INSTALLERS,USERS AND MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL

It is important to follow all instructions shipped with this product. This device is to be installed by a trained electrician who is thoroughly familiar with the National Electric Code/Canadian Electric Code and will follow the NEC/CEC Guidelines as well as local codes.

The selection of mounting location for the device, its controls and the routing of the wiring is to be accomplished under the direction of the facilities engineer and the safety engineer. In addition, listed below are some other important safety instructions and precautions you should follow:

• Readandunderstandallinstructionsbeforeinstallingoroperatingthisequipment.

• Disconnectlightfromthepowersupplybeforeanyinstallationormaintenanceisperformed.

• Afterinstallation,testthelightsystemtoensurethatitisoperatingproperly.

• Neveraltertheunitinanymanner.Safetymaybeendangeredifadditionalopenings or other alterations are made to the units.

• Aftertestingiscomplete,provideacopyofthisinstructionsheettoalloperatingpersonnel.

• Establishaproceduretoroutinelycheckthelightinstallationforintegrityandproper operation.

• Theproductnameplate,whichmaycontaincautionaryorotherinformationofimportance to maintenance personnel, should not be obscured in any way.

Failure to follow all safety precautions and instructions may result in property damage, serious injury, or death.

I. INSTALLATION.

A. Unpacking.

Afterunpackingthelight,examineitfordamagethatmayhaveoccurredintransit.If the equipment has been damaged, do not attempt to install or operate it. File a claim immediatelywiththecarrierstatingtheextentofthedamage.Carefullycheckallenvelopes,shipping labels, shipping labels and tags before removing or destroying them.

B. Mounting.

1. Pipe Mounting (LP3PL).

Model LP3PL lights are to be installed on 1/2” NPT pipe. If 3/4” NPT pipe is used, a user-supplied reducer and pipe nipple are required.

a. Attachlighttopipebyturningclockwise.Useatoolagainstwrenchflatsonconduithubforfinaltightening.

2. Panel Mounting (LP3ML). a. Drillorpunch7/8”(22.2mm)diameterholeinmountingsurface.

b. Locategasketonmountingsurfaceandsetlightontopofgasket.Tightensuppliedlocknuttosecurethelight.

c. RefertosectionCforinformationonmakingelectricalconnections.

3. Surface Mounting (LP3TL).

a. Usinggasketasatemplate,marktwomountingholesandcenterwiringhole.Drillorpunchoutholesasnecessary.

b. Locategasketonmountingsurfaceandsetlightontopofgasket.Secure to mounting surface using the appropriate user-supplied No. 10 (5 mm) screws.

c. RefertosectionCforinformationonmakingelectricalconnections.

C. Electrical Connections.

The lights come assembled from the factory with two or three color-coded leads for makingfieldconnections.

Toavoidelectricalshockhazards,donotconnecttosupplycircuitwhenpowerisapplied.

ForACunits,connectthephasesideofthelinetotheblackwire,theneutralsideoftheline to the white wire, and the ground to the green/yellow wire.

ForDCunits,connectthepositive(+)sourcetotheredwireandthenegative(-)sourcetotheblackwire.

II. MAINTENANCE.

Maintenance personnel must follow all safety instructions and precautions listed at the beginning of this manual prior to performing any maintenance on this product. Lamp replacement is the only routine maintenance procedure required for this unit.

Toavoidelectricalshockhazards,donotreplacelampwhenpowerisapplied.

Riskoffire,relamponlywithfactoryprovidedreplacementlamps.

To replace the lamp, proceed as follows:

A.Loosenthelockingscrewonlensandremovelensfromhousingbyturningcounter-clockwise.

B.RemovetheoldLEDbydepressingtheLEDandturningcounter-clockwise.

C.ReplaceLEDwithFederalSignalapprovedreplacementLEDlistedinsectionIV.

D.Attachlenstohousingbyturningclockwiseuntilseated.

E.Tightenlockingscrewonlenstosecure.

F. Test light for proper operation.

III. SERVICE.

The Federal factory will service your equipment or provide technical assistance with any problems that cannot be handled locally.

Any units returned to Federal Signal for service, inspection, or repair must be accompaniedbyaReturnMaterialAuthorization.ThisR.M.A.canbeobtainedfromalocalDistributororManufacturer’sRepresentative.

Atthistimeabriefexplanationoftheservicerequested,orthenatureofthemalfunction,should be provided.

I. INSTALLATION.

A. Déballage.

Aprèsavoirdéballélalumière,vérifiersoigneusementsielleaétéendommagéelorsdutransport.Sil’équipementaétéendommagé,nepastenterdel’installeroudelefairefonctionner.Déposerimmédiatementuneréclamationauprèsdutransporteur,déclarantl’étenduedesdommages.Examinersoigneusementtouteslesenveloppes,étiquettesd’expéditionetautresétiquettesavantdelesretireroudelesdétruire.

B. Montage.

1. Montage sur tube (LP3PL).

LeslumièresdemodèleLP3PLdoiventêtreinstalléessuruntubeàfiletageconiquede12,7mm(1/2po.).Siuntubede19mm(3/4po.)àfiletageconiqueestutilisé,unréducteuretunmamelondetubefournisparl’utilisateursontnécessaires.

a. Fixerlalumièresurletubeenlafaisanttournerdanslesensdesaiguillesd’unemontre.Utiliserunoutilcontrelespansdemanœuvresurleconcentrateurdeconduitpourleserragefinal.

b. Pourobtenirdesinformationssurlesbranchementsélectriques,sereporter à la section C.

2. Montage sur panneau (LP3ML).

a. Percerouperforeruntroude22,2mm(7/8po.)dediamètresurlasurface de montage.

b. Positionnerlejointsurlasurfacedemontageetfixerlalumièreau-dessusdujoint.Serrerl’écrouauto-freinéfournipoursécuriserlalumière.

c. Pourobtenirdesinformationssurlesbranchementsélectriques,sereporter à la section C.

3. Montage en saillie (LP3TL).

a. Àl’aidedujointstatiquecommegabarit,tracerdesrepèrespourdeuxtrous de montage et un trou de câblage au centre. Percer ou perforer les trous en fonction des besoins.

b. Positionnerlejointsurlasurfacedemontageetfixerlalumièreau-dessusdujoint.Sécuriserl’ensemblesurlasurfacedemontageenutilisantlesvisn°10(5mm)appropriées(fourniesparl’utilisateur).

c. Pourobtenirdesinformationssurlesbranchementsélectriques,sereporter à la section C.

C. Branchements électriques.

Leslumièressontassembléesenusineavecdeuxoutroisfilsàcode-couleurpourlecâblage in-situ.

AVERTISSEMENT

Afind’éviterlesrisquesdechocsélectriques,nepasbrancheraucircuitd’alimentationtant que le dispositif est sous tension.

PourlesdispositifsCA,connecterlecôtéphasedelaligneaufilnoir,lecôténeutredelaligneaufilblancetlaterreaufilvert/jaune.

PourlesdispositifsCC,connecterlasourcepositive(+)aufilrougeetlasourcenégative(-)aufilnoir.

II. ENTRETIEN.

Lepersonneld’entretiendoitrespectertouteslesinstructionsetprécautionsdesécuritélistéesaudébutduprésentmanuelavantdeprocéderàtouteopérationdemaintenancesurceproduit.Leremplacementdelalampeestlaseuleprocéduredemaintenancerégulièrerequise pour ce dispositif.

C.RemplacerlaLEDparuneLEDderechangeagrééeparFederalSignaletfigurantdans la liste de la section IV.

D.Fixerlalentillesurl’enceinteentournantdanslesensdesaiguillesd’unemontrejusqu’àcequ’ellesoitenclenchée.

E.Serrerlavisdeblocagesurlalentillepourlasécuriser.

F. Testerlebonfonctionnementdelalumière.

III. ENTRETIEN.

L’usinedeFederalSignalprocéderaàl’entretiendevotreéquipementouvousfournirauneassistancetechniquepourtoutproblèmequinepeutpasêtrerésolusurplace.

TouslesappareilsretournésàFederalSignalpourentretien,inspectionouréparationdoiventêtreaccompagnésd’uneautorisationderetourduproduit.Vouspouvezobtenircetteautorisationauprèsd’undistributeurlocaloud’unreprésentantdufabricant.

MENSAJE DE SEGURIDAD PARA LOS INSTALADORES, LOS USUARIOS Y EL PERSONAL DE MANTENIMIENTO

Es importante seguir todas las instrucciones enviadas con este producto. Este dispositivodebeserinstaladoporunelectricistacapacitadocompletamentefamiliarizadoconelCódigoEléctricoNacional/CódigoEléctricodeCanadáyquesigaloslineamientosNEC/CEC y todos los códigos locales.

I. INSTALACIÓN.

A. Desembalaje.

Despuésdedesembalarlaluz,examínelaparadetectardañosquepuedanhaberocurridoduranteeltránsito.Sielequiposehadañado,nointenteinstalarloniponerloenfuncionamiento. Presente un reclamo de inmediato al transportista, indicando el alcance de losdaños.Concuidadoinspeccionetodoslossobres,lasetiquetasdeenvíoylosrótulosantes de retirarlos o destruirlos.

B. Montaje.

1. Montaje en tubo (LP3PL).

Las luces Modelo LP3PL deben instalarse en tubos NPT de 1/2”. Si se usan tubos NPT de 3/4”, se requiere un reductor y una boquilla roscada adecuada para tubos provistos por el usuario.

a. Sujetelaluzaltubogirándolaensentidohorario.Useunaherramientacontralosflancosenelcentrodeconductosparaelajustefinal.

b. ConsultelasecciónCafindeobtenerinformaciónsobrelasconexioneseléctricas.

2. Montaje en panel (LP3ML).

a. Perforeopunzoneunorificiode22,2mm(7/8”)dediámetroenlasuperficiedemontaje.

b. Ubiquelajuntaenlasuperficiedemontajeycoloquelaluzsobrelajunta.Ajustelatuercadeseguridadprovistaparasujetarlaluz.

c. ConsultelasecciónCafindeobtenerinformaciónsobrelasconexioneseléctricas.

3. Montajeensuperficie(LP3TL).

a. Usandolajuntacomoplantilla,marquedosorificiosdemontajeycentreelorificiodecableado.Perforeopunzonelosorificiosnecesarios.

b. Coloquelajuntaenlasuperficiedemontajeycoloquelaluzsobrelajunta.SujeteenlasuperficiedemontajeusandolostornillosapropiadosprovistosporelusuarioN.°10(5mm).

c. ConsultelasecciónCafindeobtenerinformaciónsobrelasconexioneseléctricas.

C. Conexiones eléctricas.

Laslucesvienenensambladasdefábricacondosotrescablesdecolorparalasconexionesdecampo.

ADVERTENCIA

Paraevitarelriesgodedescargaeléctrica,noconectealcircuitodealimentacióncuandoseaplicaenergía.

ParalasunidadesdeCA,conecteelladodelafasedelalíneaalcablenegro,elladoneutrodelalíneaalcableblancoylatierraalcableverde/amarillo.

ParaunidadesCC,conectelafuentepositiva(+)alcablerojoylafuentenegativa(-)alcable negro.

II. MANTENIMIENTO.

El personal de mantenimiento debe seguir todas las instrucciones de seguridad y precaucionesmencionadasalcomienzodeestemanualantesderealizarcualquiertareademantenimientoenesteproducto.Elreemplazodelalámparaeselúnicoprocedimientodemantenimiento de rutina requerido para esta unidad.

ADVERTENCIA

Paraevitarriesgosdedescargaeléctrica,noreemplacelalámparamientrasseaplica corriente.

Anteriesgodeincendio,reemplacesoloporlámparasderepuestoprovistasdefábrica.

Parareemplazarlalámpara,procedadelasiguienteforma:

A.Aflojeeltornillodebloqueoenlalenteyretirelalentedelacarcasagirándolaensentido antihorario.

B.RetireelLEDanteriorpresionandoelLEDygirandoensentidoantihorario. C.ReemplaceelLEDporLEDderepuestoaprobadosporFederalSignalymencionados

en la sección IV. D.Sujetelalentealacarcasagirandoensentidohorariohastaqueseasiente. E.Ajusteeltornillodebloqueoenlalenteparaafirmar.

F. Pruebeelcorrectofuncionamientodelaluz.

III. SERVICIO.

LafábricadeFederalrealizarálastareasdeserviciodesusequiposoproporcionaráasistenciatécnicaconlosproblemasquenosepuedanmanejaranivellocal.

Las unidades devueltas a Federal Signal para servicio, inspección o reparación deben acompañarsedeunaAutorizacióndedevolucióndematerial.Estaautorizacióndedevoluciónde material puede obtenerse de un distribuidor local o de un representante del fabricante.
