Instructions• Complete all work on the worksheet (turn in
at the end of class)• Keep track of your score at the top of the
worksheet• Answer the yes/no questions honestly- This
game is for your benefit!
I am ready! Let’s go!!
Back
How would you like to vacation with me on that
island? I can get us a great deal! The only thing we
need to do is to earn some money, are you ready to get started?
Sure Let’s Go!
I am so glad you said yes! Now the issue of money, the only way for us to earn money is to
challenge some of my old friends to some math problems. There are three opportunities to earn money per opponent. Please take your time and double check your work so that we
can earn enough money for both of us to go on vacation!
Meet the competition
Here comes our first challenger!

question correct.
Round 2
Remember when adding polynomials there are a few things
to remember:1. The parenthesis don’t mean
anything2. Combine ‘like terms’ (terms
with matching variables)

question correct.
Round two
Remember when factoring trinomials there are a few things to remember:
1. Every time you see three terms you should be using the X chart
2. In the top of the X chart goes the first number times the last and the bottom is the middle
3. “Two numbers that multiply to give you the top and add to give you the bottom”
Round 2
Round 2- Factor (x2 – 10x + 25)

Answer:(x – 5)2
Did you get the correct answer?
No Yes
Congratulations!!Hazel gave you $400 for getting that
question correct.
Round 3
Remember when factoring trinomials there are a few things to remember:
1. Every time you see three terms you should be using the X chart
2. In the top of the X chart goes the first number times the last and the bottom is the middle
3. “Two numbers that multiply to give you the top and add to give you the bottom”
4. If your two parenthesis are the same you can write it as squared
Round 3
Round 3- Factor 49x2 – 121

With a binomial there are a few things to remember:
1. Always check for a GCF2. When you have two terms check to see if you
can do DOTS3. Verify that you have subtraction and that each
part is a perfect square4. Two sets of parenthesis one plus and one
minus
