Evaluating Possible Sources

• Is the source authoritative?– An authoritative source is one that can be relied upon

to provide accurate information.

• Is the source unbiased?– An unbiased source is one whose author lacks any

prejudices that would make his or her work unreliable.

• Is the source up-to-date?• Is the work written at an appropriate level?• Does the source come highly recommended?

• When do I make a source card?• What is a working bibliography?• What about the Works Cited list?
