“No servant can serve two masters. He will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and
despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (wealth).” — Luke 16:13
Is money a “god” that you put before God? Giving money to support the Church and other charity is a
pillar of our faith, just like attending Mass every Sunday and participating in parish ministry. Giving money frees us from being a slave to money. It in-creases our dependence on God and our trust that
God will provide all that we need.

Whew, it’s over!!!! It was a hot one...BUT we had a great day and a great turn-out!
We can’t thank our volunteers enough...you all were great! We heard many compliments on the BBQ and the whole meal.
As soon as all the expenses and receipts are in we will publish a 2019 Bazaar Edition. If you happened to get any pictures from
the day, please send them to patsypekar@gmail.com. A great BIG thank you to Rich and Charlotte Mills who worked tirelessly for weeks ahead of the bazaar. You are one of the
reasons we had such a successful bazaar. Give them a pat on the back and thank them when you see them. They deserve it!
Please contact them while things are fresh on your mind about ideas for the 2020 Bazaar, things that did not work so well this year, or where we might be able to improve. Please fill out the below form and turn it into the Parish Office so
your donations can be posted to your contribution record. Please note the information in brackets as to what can be
claimed for tax purposes and what cannot.

As a parish, we are grateful to those parishioners who give of their time serving in a ministry during Mass. In recent months we have experienced a significant amount of liturgical minister no-shows. The ministry schedule is published in the bulletin the weekend prior to the first weekend of the next month. Be sure to notify the parish office at (979) 742-3383 of any known scheduling issues, such as vacations, business, etc. that would make you unavailable on a certain day or time period for the coming month, so the schedule may be prepared appropriately. Please report NO LATER than 15 minutes prior to the Mass start time. This will reduce the turmoil that arises in trying to find a replacement in such a very short notice. It is your responsibility to attempt to find a replacement when you are scheduled but cannot serve. A list of all the ministers and their phone numbers can be found in the Priest’s Sacristy. You can use this list to help find a replacement. If you are not assigned to help at Mass that day and would like to assist if needed, please check in before Mass begins. Appearance is important in the Church. We encourage you to always dress like you have come to do something important, that is, to worship God. That way if you need to fill in as a minister, you will be properly dressed. Thanks for doing what you are doing. It is a great service to the parish and all of the effort you make is deeply appreciated.
*If anyone is interested in volunteering for any of our ministries or have questions, please contact the Parish Office at (979) 742-3383.
