What is Spot-buing activity
Spot Buys are purchases for goods/services that are:
Not covered by an existing contract or written agreement with suppliers
Covered by a contract or written agreement (from a terms and conditions
perspective) but no price is (yet) agreed with the suppliers
Below a certain pre-defined value (higher values should be covered by Category
Management)
Requiring (respectively benefit from) an individual RFQ/negotiation process

Spot-buing
Spot Buy activities are:
Very often managed by business instead of Procurement or Purchasing dept.
e-Sourcing tools mostly not used
High risk of wasting your money through friendship between supplier and business
Even if this activity is based on valid contract,
further negotiation needed
