To whom it may concern:
I am a Taekwondo athlete who is training to represent Jamaica in
the 2012 summer Olympics. I was born in Montego Bay Jamaica,
and am currently living in New York. I have spent the last 6 ½
years training and competing in Tae Kwon Do, the last year of
which I've spent preparing for the Olympics. Along with my
training, I am a student at Columbia University where I am
pursuing a degree in Neuroscience. I am currently a member of
the Jamaican National Tae Kwon Do team and I am preparing to
qualify my country for the Olympics in the Pan American Games
this fall. I am proud to have the opportunity to represent
Jamaica at the Olympics, but I first need to cross a financial
hurdle. Being a full time student at an Ivy League University

coupled with about seventeen hours a week of training in
Taekwondo, completely fills my schedule. Hence, in order to be
able to represent my country, I must seek additional help for
expenses such as airfare, hotel stays, as well as other trip
expenses.
There are several areas of need pertaining to my Taekwondo
training. First, there are the mandatory tournaments. These are
qualification tournaments for the Olympics. Secondly, there are
additional tournaments; these tournaments are important for
learning how to handle the pressures of highly competitive
environments. The skills developed during these tournaments
will significantly improve my chances in the qualification rounds.
Thirdly, there is the additional training by international Masters
of the sport. Exposure to different training methods will allow me
to further hone my skills and provide the competitive edge that
will guarantee my success during the Pan American Qualifiers.
Fourthly, there is specific equipment required for all participants
in Taekwondo for the Olympics. These will be found under the
gear list which is in the latter half of the proposal. Finally, all
Page | 3
Olympic participants are required to have a coach. My coach is
Grand Master Sohail Ali Khan. The athlete and coach train, travel,
and compete together. Therefore, all travel expenses have been
calculated for both coach and athlete. His resume is included
with this proposal. I appreciate your time and consideration. At
your request, I am able to provide verification that I am indeed a
member of the Jamaica Taekwondo Olympic Team. Please feel
free to contact me if your organization is willing to help in any
way.
Sincerely,
Cyriesse R. Hall

I have been practicing Taekwondo for the last 23 years and received my Black Belt in 1988 by Master Koo Bong Kim, a 7th Degree Black Belt and ex-world champion. Over the years, I have competed in many countries, winning medals and the most rewarding title given to me in Iran was “The Golden Boy of Pakistan”. With the grace of GOD I won the first International medal and First International gold medal in Pakistan’s Taekwondo history. I have also recently accepted the position of First Official Head Coach in the history of Pakistan.

Travel Agenda SummaryTravel Agenda Summary
The travel agenda contains a list of mandatory
tournaments as well as additional tournaments that will
help me develop as an athlete. The more exposure a
Taekwondo athlete has to different fighters and trainers,
the more well-rounded they become and the better their
chances during important events such as the Olympics.
The last section of the agenda contains a list of places
where I can receive the best training possible. As is
evident from my training schedule, I am committed to
Page | 13
qualifying Jamaica for the 2012 Olympics; I simply need
the resources to enable me to do so. Bolded events are
mandatory, the additional summer training (at the end of
the agenda) is essential and the rest are optional. The
more support I receive, the more events I will be able to
participate. Please review the following agenda to
determine how your company can best support Jamaica
in the 2012 Olympic Games.

Conclusion
Qualifying for the Olympics is no easy task. It takes many long
days of practice. This training has no immediate gratification, in
fact, the sacrifice required for this kind of training is felt by all
those who are close to you. However, I believe that unlike all the
other individuals that may be applying for sponsorship, I possess
the will, discipline, and with your help, the tools to be the first
Jamaican Fin/Fly weight Olympic Champion. Please join me in my
efforts. I look forward to possibly meeting with you to discuss
how we can partner together to make this Olympic dream a
reality.
