SOP for Updating Windows Security

1. Please go to Start -> All Programs ->Windows Update

2. This will open an Internet Explorer and bring you to Microsoft Windows Update webpage. Please click on the Custom button.

3. After a moment of checking into your PC/Laptop the webpage will display out what are the High-priority updates that required installing into your PC/Laptop.

4. Please uncheck Windows Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows XP. Please remember not to install IE 7.0 as some of our company applications are not compatible with IE 7.0 yet. From here also you may uncheck any Security update which is not required by the system. After that please click on the Review and install updates.

5. Please confirm again the updates you going to install. You mat then click on the Install Updates button to continue.

6. The updating will begin with downloading and follow by the installations of all the security patches.

7. After finish installation there maybe a pop up screen asking you to restart the system (depend on the security that have been install). Please restart the system as requested.
