Skipton Open Studios Directory

Welcome to the SKIPTON OPEN STUDIOS 2012 Artist Directory.This invaluable guide features profiles of all artists involved, where they can be found and when their studios are open to the public. Now in its fifth year, Skipton Open Studios 2012 kicks off on 22 June with an exhibition at Weighbridge Place, St Helier.

Twelve shipping containers will be lowered into place and transformed into an art installation, gallery and workshop for Jersey’s leading artists. Hands-on workshops include container painting, paper making, stonemasonry, print making, needle turning and photography. There will also be details of further workshops, open studios and events throughout the coming year.

Artists open up their own studios/ galleries to the public over the last two weekends in June. It is a chance for public and artists to meetand gain an insight into how and where the work is produced, together with the inspirations and techniques involved.

Visit the Weighbridge exhibition for a taster of the artists’ work, check their details in the directory, then use the fold out map at the back of the guide to find the studios you want to visit.

Skipton Open Studios 2012 is organised by Jersey Arts Trust and kindly sponsored by Skipton International. The event is also supported by Antony Gibb Ltd, Huelin-Renouf Shipping, iQ and Jersey Heritage.
