INTERNATIONAL BIRD RACE Organized by Frazer Hill Development corp. ,WWF malaysia and Malaysian Nature Society.

•  Each group contains 3 participants

•  Watch and count number of birds seen within a specific confine and within a stipulated person

•  Team provide bird logbook with appropriately marked columns for reporting observations.

P R O S :

•  Attract Birders from the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa and other countries to Pahang.

•  Increase the income •  Healthy and enriching activity for bird racing enthusiasts.

•  Promote Fraser Hill.

C O N S :

•  If not well maintained, pollution will bring negative effects to F.H.

•  Increase in temperature to the cool highlands will attract the lower montane birds, like hornbills, to go higher up the highlands.

•  Birds that relish and live in cool climates will die or disappear when they migrate to

other cooler areas.

S O L U T I O N :

•  Preserve and maintain the environment, its ecological systems and forests.

•  Don't allow commercial greed to deprive future generations from enjoying the variety of melodious songs and the multitude of vibrant colours of birdies in Fraser's Hill.

•  Provide information regarding the international bird race to bring awareness to the public

•  Fraser Hill’s incoming visitors is gradually decreasing due to competition with Cameron and Genting Highlands

•  Except for jungle trails/bird watching, other attraction are being dominated by CH & GH

•  Not attractive enough towards majority teens – adolescence

The ceilings are mainly made of gypsum, a crystalline form known as calcium sulphate dehydrate. It is ease of installation and also economy. The gypsum board are used to covered the services above the ceiling so that the interiors look tidy and pleasing.

The sand pathway is only for the horses during horse riding as it is more comfortable for the horses to walk on it

This Asphalt road is the main road in The Paddock that leads from the main entrance until the forest behind. It is easier for the use by humans and vehicles

The reinforced concrete columns support the weight of the roof, give extra open space within the area under the roof, allow sunlight to penetrate in for the environment to look bright and less opaque. Based on the climate analysis, site 4 is the most suitable site to build bird watching tower. Site 4 located at the end of our site. Its temperature is very suitable for the birds and it was protected by strong wind. It was a well shaded area with less noises.

•  This site is facing the archery field. •  The least number of trees in all sites. •  No shades around.

Site 2 •  Located next to a gazebo. •  Grass and weeds are very long. •  Hill at the back of the site.

Site 3 •  A slightly open area. •  Located in the middle of the hill. •  Just below Site 1.

Site 4 •  At the lowest point of the site. •  Weeds and grass are tall around here. •  Soil are muddy and many leeches are

found.
