Sibel Avcı Tugal became interested in painting at her very early age. She obtained her BS degree from Istanbul Technical University in 1985,faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Tuğal joined Canadian-‐Turkish jointventure international telecommunication company as project and product coordinator. In 1997, she decided to change her carrier and she started as an art director and public relations manager for a multimedia company designing graphics and producing interactive multimedia CDROMs. In 2003 she moved to Canada and continued her work as web page designer, graphic designer and artist until 2006. Upon returning to Turkey in 2007, she joined to the founder team of Işık University Faculty of Fine Arts as instructor at Graphic Arts and Design Department and assumed additional responsibility of public relations during foundation until 2009. She obtained her MA thesis degree in Art Theory and Critics with the subject on Light and Movement : Op Art, Işık University, 2011, her Art Proficiency degree (PhD) in Cinema and TV with the experimental short film “ The Red Square”, Beykent University, 2016. She completed Science of Art PhD. program in 2017. She participates in exhibitions in painting, printmaking, photography. Her first book “The Formation Process in Op Art” published in May 2012. She wrote the book chapter named “21th Century, The Age of Digital Image-‐ p.108-‐ 120” of “Görüntü Üretimi ve Gündelik Hayat” published in April, 2013. Her second book ” Oluşum Süreci İçinde Dijital Sanat” has been published in October 2018. She is working as Asst. Prof. at Işık University Faculty of Fine Arts at Visual Communication Design Department, and as art consultant at FMV Işık Schools. Since 1995 she has been working on computer based design digital artworks while pursuing her artistic work in different techniques, works on the digital arts and produces digital art works. 2011-‐2018; she has four solo exhibitions, also participated in 34 national-‐international exhibitions.
