Actor Shilpa ShettyKundra says shewill make her dig-

ital debut with a series andis excited to see how theaudience will receive her inthe streaming space.

The actor said, though itis too early to reveal details, she aims to start shootingfor the project in 2022.

"I have said yes to some-thing that I am going tostart mid next year. Itneeds a lot of prep, that willbe another announcement.OTT has opened up a lot ofavenues for many actors, including me.

"It requires a lot of timeso if it is that one outing, then it really has to justifyyou and be synonyms withyour brand. So there issomething that has comemy way. It will be interest-ing for me to be seen in thatspace," she told PTI.

Shilpa will be the latest'90s star to venture into thedigital space.

Her contemporaries likeMadhuri Dixit andRaveena Tandon are alsoset to make their digital de-but with Netflix seriesFinding Anamika andAranyak, respectively.

While Sushmita Sen hasalready made a successfulseries debut with the 2020show, Aarya.

The 46-year-old actor

said apart from the OTTproject, she has also signeda new film, which will go onfloors by the end of theyear.Shilpa is currentlygearing up for the release ofHungama 2, featuringParesh Rawal.

The Priyadarshan-di-rected comedy is scheduledto be released onDisney+Hotstar on July23.

The actor, known to starin films like Life in a Metroand Dhadkan, said, thoughthe comedy marks her firstfilm in 14 years, her come-back film was supposed tobe Baaghi director SabbirKhan's Nikamma.

The action-romantic-comedy, also starring Abhi-manyu Dassani and Shirley

Setia, was pushed due tothe pandemic.

"The first film I had saidyes to was Nikamma. It is agreat part. I thought if Ihave to make a comeback,it has to be something dif-ferent. We are waiting for atheatrical release for thatone.

"Hungama 2 happens torelease first. I would haveloved to make my come-back on 70 mm but OTT isgreat for us actors becausethere are some people whowould prefer watchingfilms at home due to thepandemic," she added.

Both, Hungama 2 andNikamma are a departurefrom the trend of actorsmaking a comeback to thescreen with heavy duty, so-

cially relevant films.Shilpa said she is inclined

towards entertaining theaudience and unlike otherstars, doesn't take herself"too seriously."

"I really believe actorstake themselves too seri-ously. But I don't. I am hereto entertain people. A filmhas to be received well, it isnever about you. There areso many big multi-starrerfilms where in the trailer it-self I feel, 'I don't think thiswill work for me.'

"I have learnt over theyears, if the content works, the actor works and be-comes bigger... Both thefilms that I chose after sucha long sabbatical workedfor me on those front," sheadded.
