Reasoning & Quantitative aptitude course series
OBJECTIVE :
NON VERBAL REASONING
Non verbal reasoning tests measure your ability to recognize patterns, analogies and
classifications in diagrams. They offer multiple choice questionnaires. You are not required
specific language skills to solve the problems. Even your acquired knowledge in some particular
field is not tested.
The non verbal reasoning tests have been showing a high level of reliability and a good
predictive validity. They are considered culturally free IQ tests. They are not only used in job
screening process but also to recruit students for different academic trainings.
What is non verbal reasoning?
Simply put non verbal reasoning is all reasoning that is not verbal reasoning and verbalreasoning is the ability of reasoning by using concepts framed in words. So actually non verbal
reasoning is a term which stands for a broad range of reasoning skills like e.g. abstract reasoning
diaghrammatic reasoning, spatial reasoning, numerical reasoning and many more.
Non-verbal reasoning involves drawing conclusions based on a set of facts either fictional or non
fictional. Exercises include activities like describing the similarities and differences between two
pictures, finding the shape that does not belong in a sequence of shapes, predicting what shape
should next appear in the sequence, and so on. Non-verbal reasoning exercises can also include
numerical and aural activities, where non-speech sounds must be matched, differentiated, or
compared and contrasted and even some syllogisms can be categorized as non verbal reasoning.
Fibonicci contains a broad range of these non verbal reasoning problems for you to practice:
abstract reasoning tests
spatial reasoning tests
instrument comprehension tests
number sequences tests
Non verbal reasoning in everyday life
But also in the everyday life even though speech is the most obvious form of communication. One’s non verbal reasoning skills are an invaluable asset, since people are constantly bombarded
by non verbal impulses, signals and gestures. Actually people use their non verbal intelligence
much more then their verbal intelligence. Almost everything you will encounter in life you will
first judge by visual interpretation, because this is simply the easiest, fastest and it can be done
without drawing attention to oneself. So your first impression of something or somebody is
almost always based on your non verbal reasoning skills. For example if you try to judge
somebody on their looks you are actually using non verbal reasoning to do this.

26.Answer: Option A
Explanation:
Two and four 'V' shaped elements get inverted alternately
27.Answer: Option E
Explanation:
In each step, both the elements move one space (each space is equal to half-a-side of the square
boundary) downwards. Once any of the two elements reaches the lowermost position, then in the
next step, it reaches the uppermost position in the next column to the right.
28.Answer: Option A

30. Answer: Option A
Explanation:
In each step, the upper element is lost; the middle element reduces in size and becomes the upper
element; the lower element enlarges and becomes the middle element and a new element appears
at the lower position.
31.Answer: Option B
Explanation:
If we label the four elements in the figure as ; then the arrow at position 1-rotates
45oACW and 135
oACW alternately; the element at position 2 rotates 90
oACW and moves to
position 3 in each step; the element at position 3 rotates 90oACW and moves to position 4 in
each step and the element at position 4 moves to position 2 and gets replaced by a new element
in each step.
32.Answer: Option B
Explanation:
In the first step, the elements at the four ends move in the sequence . In each subsequentstep, the elements move in the sequence obtained by rotating the previous sequence through
