secondarysideofthetransformerwithapowerdistributionsection,providingtheabilitytotransferpowerbetweentwosources
inquarterofanelectricalcycle,whiledeliveringthatpowertouptotwelvesub-feedcircuitbreakersOruptosix42-circuitpanel
boards.
ThisautomaticallyormanuallyprovidesstatictransfersbetweentwoACsourcesinlessthanaquartercycle,andsafelytransfers
thispowerdownstream.TheSeries70
ePODs:Type-Sperformsopen-transition
transferinsuchamannerthatthe
connectedloaddisruptionisminimized
withoutevercross-connectingthe
powersources.Apowersourceis
specifiedasthepreferredsource,andif
thepreferredsourcefails,theunitwill
automaticallyconnecttothealternative
sourceuntilthepreferredsourceis
availableagain.
Theelectricalandmechanicaldesign
ishighlymaintainable.Critical
componentscanbereplacedwithout
theneedtode-energizetheload.

TheunitsareavailableinSMR(SingleModularRedundancy)orTMR(TripleModularRedundancy)configurations,bothofwhicharearchitecturesthateliminatesinglepointsoffailure.
TheTMRconfigurationwillcontinueitsmissionofbeingastatictransferswitchevenifanyonecontrolelementweretofail.Assuch,itisknowntoimprovereliabilitybyanorderofmagnitude.
TripleModularRedundantproductsservetheneedsofelite,mission-criticalinfrastructurerequirements.WithourTripleModularRedundantSTStopologywecanprovideproductsthatareatleasttentimesmorereliablethanalternativeconfigurations.
Reliability
Mechanical Bypass Interlock
Thebypassprocedureemploysafail-safemeasuretoimprovesystemreliabilityinthattheprocedurecanonlybephysicallycompletedinthecorrectsequence.
Amechanical“doublegoalpost”interlockbarphysicallyconstrainstheoperatorsbehaviorsothatbreakerscanonlybemanipulatedinanorderthatmaintainscontinuityofpowertotheload.
Therestraintrotatesdownwardformanualtransfertestingpurposes.
Voice Guided Bypass Procedure
Thenumberonecauseofstaticswitchload-lossisoperatorerrorduringmaintenancebypass.Tohelppreventoperatorsfromcompletingthebypassprocedureout-of-sequence,ourproductsfeatureavoicepromptedbypassprocedure.Visualandaudiocuesprovideclearinstructionsonthebypassingsequence.Thisinstructstheoperatorinastep-by-stepcourseofactionoftheprocess,withonlyoneoperationperscreen.Voiceguidedbypassslowsdownoperatorsandcompelsthemtothinkabouttheprocess,significantlyreducingtheprobabilityofoperatorerror.

TheSeries70ePODs:Type-SfeaturesanIP-20,finger-safepanelboard,meaningthattheopeningwillnotallowingressof½”(12.5mm)diameterprobe,formaximumoperatorsafety.
Anarccanformastwoliveconductorsareseparated–suchastheremovalofacircuitbreakerfromapanelboard.TheSafePaneldesignensuresthatapotentialarcwouldbecontainedintheconnectionwellsothatevenifabranchbreakerweretoberemoved,thearcwouldbecontainedintheconnectionwell.
Further,theCBcanonlybedisengaged/removedwhenintheoffposition,whicheliminatesthepossibilityofthecreationofanarcorflashduringbreakerremoval.WhentheCBisintheoffposition,accesstothemountingscrewislockedout.WhentheCBisintheonpositions,accesstothemountingscrewisenabledviaaslidingshutter.
Insulatedwiththecomponentsdeeplyisolated,removalofthebreakerissafeandeasy.
Thereisaconveniencehandleontheloadsideandaremovablehandleonthelineside.ThesubfeedcircuitbreakerisinstalledbyplacingtheCBintothepanelboardandengagingthelockwithascrew.
