SELF-INTRODUCTION FOR INTRODUCTION TO ONLINE LEARNING

I am a native of New England from a town outside Boston - hence the gorgeous fall foliage photo. I am married to a Californian who serves as a hospice chaplain, and we have two millennial children in their mid-twenties. I’ve lived in CA, CT, IL, MA, MI, and very briefly in LA and Scotland. I enjoy travel, entertaining, family time, and casual biking and swimming.

I teach math, strategy, and marketing at Vanguard University, a small, private, Christian Liberal Arts college in Costa Mesa, CA.

Fun fact: One unexpected highlight of my time at Vanguard was to be part of a classroom photo shoot. A few months later, one of the photos was put on a billboard just off the 55 Highway. After that surprise, I added “billboard” to my bucket list and then checked it off!

I currently teach math online and my university is planning on launching the business degree program, in which I teach, in an online format. So, I am enrolled in the Teaching Online certificate program to expand my knowledge of online learning best practices and to improve my online teaching and curriculum development skills.
